Not a surprise to see McDaniels get the boot. Spygate 2 was probably the straw that broke the coach's back. McDaniels will resurface as an OC somewhere.

I'm guessing that Bowlen is going to try to fire him for "cause" as I just read that the Broncos are still paying Shanahan and if they don't file a grievance (from the video tape stuff) they could potentially be paying three coaches in 2011.



Side note: I don't think they gave him enough time. Sure, he was royally screwing up that franchise...trade away Cutler, Brandon Marshall, Peyton Hillis and that 1st rounder for Alphonso Smith, who was traded to the Lions for peanuts. But I think his gameplanning was good and he's going to be a highly sought after OC. He was just not a good people-person.

Agree 100%. He just doesn't have the personality to effectively handle all the responsibilities of being a head coach. It seems to take the right combination of a variety of things to do the job well. He doesn't have it. But he will probably be a good to great OC for a long time.

Less than two years is plenty of time? I don't disagree with firing Joshie, he earned it. Its one thing to dump a bunch of unhappy players, but to make them unhappy, then dump them, then lose is cause for firing. Bowlen should be fired too for giving so much power to someone with so little experience. Nothing happens in a vacuum, could be with the right support McDaniels might not have failed so miserably.
