Yeah, it says that in the article above. It's crazy that they didn't see this coming at all. On another forum I was on a guy mentioned possibly using "Great Lakes" division and "Heartland" division, or something like that. :-?

Those names have been tossed about for a while. It makes more sense than what they came up with.

They really should just go ultra-generic and do north/south. It's not a great geographic split, but who cares.

Totally. I mean, it's already called the Big 10 with 12 teams, is having north/south but not quite geographically accurate that big of a deal?

Shouldn't be a big deal...and it's not like legands and leaders are particularly accurate either.

Or go with names of legendary coaches or players from each division. I'd be happy with that, too. They waaaayyyyy over-thought this.

For the love of all...just call them East and West. Or at most Lakes and Plains. That's about as exotic as I would want to go.

Couldn't find a better place to post this, but Kevin Kugler and Ahman Green just joined the Big Ten Network. Kugler's a solid voice. Have not heard Green do commentary so I have no idea what element he'll add aside from being a Husker.
