Tis the season to win back-to-back titles. Help me repeat!!

Postby NY Nicks » Fri Dec 24, 2010 1:51 am

I have a chance to be my league's first ever repeat champ. Going against a hell of an opponent though. Dude has Vick and DeSean. Rogers and Calvin Johnson. S-Jax and McFadden against a week Colts run D. I need to play my cards right to win this one.

I have a dilemma at pretty much every position and would love some insight.

QB- I'm starting Rivers and have to choose between Kitna vs ARI and Schaub vs TENN for that second slot.

RB- I have a pretty good running back situation. In this case, maybe too abundant. It's coming down to my 2 flex positions which will both be filled by RBs. The one I'm having trouble with is either Blount vs SEA or McCoy vs MIN. I have MJD, Charles and BJGE currently getting the starts and would only consider benching Charles if I insisted on playing both Blount and McCoy. Another close call though.

WR- I have Harvin and Steve Johnson currently on the bench with Mike Wallace (who had a nice game thurs night), Hakeem Nicks and Dwayne Bowe occupying the starting slots. The one change I'm giving serious consideration is taking out Nicks and replacing him with Steve Johnson. Which player should I roll with now that Mike Wallace has given me a nice head start? Should I consider benching Bowe?? My opponent has a lot of firepower at WR. Would like to at least match his point total in that department.

TE- Kevin Boss or Aaron Hernandez? I'm leaning towards Boss. From the research I've done, GB has a tough time covering TEs. Hernandez has a nice match up in BUF but will the weather and their reliance on the running game limit him severely? Remember, I'm starting BJGE too. Don't like to start 2 guys that can eat into each other's production unless they're 2 surefire stars.

Thanks to anyone willing to lend a helping hand. I'll gladly return the favor to anyone who asks.

First of all... your opponent will win this one. No matter what you do, but... let's give it a shot!

Kitna over Schaub:
ARI is trash - DAL will score and win it!
TEN is back with CJ and Collins...

I would not consider benching Charles. Go with him.

You just cannot bench Nicks! What he has done so far there is no way I would bench him... But that's just me!

TE: Hernandez is gamble... and looking at your opponents roster, IN MY OPINION, you need to gamble!

I think you're going to have to make some high-risk, high-reward plays if you're going to steal this one. Yep, your opponent is loaded. But let's not let that stop you from getting the right lineup out there in case he just happens to have one of those mediocre days.

QB - Schaub is facing DEN, not TEN. Big difference. The Denver defense is just plain bad, and if Andre Johnson plays, I like Schaub over Kitna.

RB - first thing is check your injury reports. MJD missed practice again today, and may not go on Sunday. You should pick up Rashad Jennings off the wire. You cannot bench Jamaal Charles, period. If MJD doesn't play, Jennings will get a decent workload....but it might make your decision easier, letting you run with Charles, BJGE, Blount and McCoy.

WR - here's your risk/reward play. Consider starting Stevie J over McCoy. Seattle is awful against RB's, and Blount at home has the chance for a big game. Meantime, you want NE to score, and score a lot, forcing BUF to throw against a pretty suspect Pats secondary. If Matt Flynn can do what he did, Fitzpatrick should be able to as well, with Stevie getting a lot of the benefit....but he won't in a low scoring game. You may be chasing points with McCoy that are getting split between him, Vick, DJax and Maclin. Could be that McCoy gets the biggest share of them....but could be that he doesn't, too.

TE - agree that Hernandez is the gamble. But I like Boss here. If GB has a weakness in pass defense, it's defending the TE, and I think the Giants try to exploit it.

Good luck to you, and congrats on making your title game!

Wow that opponent has some serious firepower!
I like Schaub as your second QB vs a bad Den D, Arizona Pass D isn't that horrendous at home!
RB's is tough, Blount and McCoy I think will both go big, tough benching either one of those guys, if PPR go McCoy
Wr's I like Nicks And Stevie J
Gotta go Boss, that NE tE situation is always crazy, never know which one is gonna have a big day!

Help with mine please:
