Going into this week I thought I had a three-headed monster at RB in Michael Turner, MJD, and AP. But that no longer looks like it is the case. MJD has been ruled out of Sunday's game, and AP is questionable. However, it sounds like AP will be able to start and play.
I need to choose 2 other RB's to go alongside Turner. Here are the choices:
Rashad Jennings vs WAS (will start in place of MJD)
Adrian Peterson @ PHI(easily a top 5 NFL talent, but he is hampered by injury, Joe Webb is his QB, and who knows if he will get yanked if the Vikes fall behind early)
Ryan Torain @ JAX (He has been really good since he has come back from injury)
Jeremy Maclin vs MIN (don't really like him this week, Minnesota's pass defense sucks, but I expect Phili to run the entire 2nd half with a big lead, and he is really the 3rd option (1. McCoy, 2. DJax, 3. Maclin)
Pierre Garcon @ OAK (Has a great matchup, but I don't think I can start him ahead of the other guys here)
I'm really leaning towards Jennings. He has a great match up and he will see nearly all the work out the backfield on Sunday. For the second RB spot, it is mainly between AP and Torain. Sounds like AP will play, but the question is how effective will he be, and how much does he play? If the Eagles go up early, which they most likely will, do the Vikes keep AP out there? The Vikes fell behidn by 30 to the Bears last week, it could be even worst against the Eagles. I just don't see AP playing if they are down by more than 3 TD's. Is Torain the safe play here? Torain also has the better match up than AP. I just don't want to be known as the crazy guy who decided to bench AP in the playoffs and lost because of benching him.
