As of right now, my keepers are Rodgers, MJD, CJ2K, Charles, Fitzgerald and Jennings, with Wallace and Danario Alexander as bonus "free" keepers. Roster indecision cost me the superbowl (two years in a row!), so I'm looking to consolidate my starting lineup.
The Roddy owner has a lot of mediocrity behind him (MSW, Crabtree, Manningham), had a sub-.500 record and was in the lower half in points.
The Calvin owner is even worse off (TO, Bess, Berrian) and was among the worst in points (though he actually made the playoffs because of an unusually good record due to a silly-low pts-against).
As it stands now, if I keep the above, I'll be throwing VJax and Finley back. Basically I have more depth than I can keep. So I'm looking to offer a 2-for-1 for one of these guys.
I figure either would go for Fitz and Jennings, but I think that's a bit much. I'd be more willing to offer ONE of them, plus VJax or Finley.
Am I on the right track here? Which of Fitz or Jennings would you rather keep and which would you rather let go?
WHIR!
12-team PPR, start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1D/ST Unlimited keepers, but more than 6 cost draft picks, starting w 1st Rnd
I honestly dont think you can miss with either calvin or roddy next season. So i'd go after both of them.
calvin and roddy will be top 5.
fitz has qb issues. vjax can be amazing next year...but he's a risky play. finley is coming off a major injury. and jennings i like, but hes not quite at the level of roddy and calvin.
if you only wanna go for one trade...id trade finley and fitz for calvin. I think calvin will beast it up next year with a healthy stafford back. plus he's younger than roddy.
I much prefer both Roddy and Calvin over Fitz and Jennings. Barring a bunch of injuries, your team starting the draft with Rodgers, MJD, CJ2K, Charles, Calvin, Roddy, Wallace and Danario Alexander would be a virtual shoe in for the finals.
2011 FFB Totals Terrible at everything, and a liar.
If you have to give back two quality players, then absolutely do 2-for-1s. To me, you can afford to make offers that clearly favor the other owner, but it greatly benefits your keeper material.
I would see what the other owners want for those 2, plus any other elite player you like out there... make the best 2-for-1 deal (or deals) you can.
I wouldn't just throw away Fitz for god's sake he's still a stud and I like what I saw out of Skelton. He gets him the ball. Now that Skelton is the man in town, I have a feeling Fitz isn't going anywhere out of the top 10.
Offer VJax and Finley for both White and Megatron and see what happens.
I wouldn't offer Fitz and something else for Megatron or White ,that's just silly.
Who else could you have as a free keeper?
I'd be happy with: Rodgers, MJD, CJ2K, Charles, Fitzgerald and Jennings, with Wallace That's illegal keepers. Or here's another thought, instead of upgrading at WR, how about going for a stud TE? You have Wallace who is a beast himself....Any young Tes in FA you could grab and keep as a free keeper instead of Alexander?? Just a thought.
The White owner has Zach Miller and Gresham at TE. The Johnson owner has Keller and Gonzo.
Our "bonus" keeper rule is that we can keep up to two players with 2 years of NFL experience or less. FA TEs that would qualify (and don't totally suck) are Pettigrew, Moeaki, Jared Cook and Ed Dickson. The others have been gobbled up. One guy has 3 TEs on roster! Also, this will be the last year Wallace is free, so next year I'll be deciding who to keep with him and my other WRs. FWIW, we start 2RB, 2WR, 1TE and one flex and it's PPR. So if I start all three RBs, I can only go with two WRs. That's essentially how I went this year, only going three wide when I had RB byes to cover.
Other players at large that are of mild interest are James Starks, Anthony Armstrong, Jacoby Ford, Deon Butler, David Gettis, and Brandon LaFell. I thought of that bunch, only Ford was as interesting as Alexander, but Alexander might have PPR potential if the knees hold up.
Josh Freeman is also out there, but we technically play team QB. So when I say I have Rodgers, I also have Flynn. For that reason, we don't often carry multiple QBs, choosing to nab one for bye week (or injuries) and keeping the roster spot for other needs. So I could grab him, but it doesn't make sense to do that as a keeper when he'll likely still be there come draft time.
I'm not looking to just let Fitz go. But, for example, this year Fitz had 178 pts. Roddy had 242. And Roddy has the safer QB. Personally, I'd prefer to move Jennings and have White and Fitz as my starters, because I don't know how much safer you could get in PPR. While Jennings ended great, last year and the first third of this year show that Finley takes a big bite out of him. So I thought he would be the better option to move. And he has the numbers this year to generate good value in trade.
Just my thoughts.

Grab up pettigrew friend. esepcially if you move Finley for White/Megs I'd keep a potential stud TE over a WR that you seem to won't ever use. More of a boom/bust with him and you got some good WR as it is.
I like both Calvin and roddy more than fitz or Jennings. When Finley is healthy he Hurts Jennings ff value and fitz has qb issues of course. Id go after Calvin first. Try either one Plus either VJax or Finley.
i too would go after both roddy and calvin. offer the 2 for 1's. the upgrade at wr would be huge for you and it is a total no brainer since vjax and finley would go unprotected anyways.
