It is ruled OK because they are following the rules(laws). They check ahead of time what the laws are in the particular place that they are protesting. For instance, at one particular funeral, they protest 30 minutes before the funeral(not during), they were over 500 feet away from the funeral, they do not speak/chant they just hold signs.

As for their reasoning, they believe that soldiers die because gays are allowed in the military. That is why they target military funerals and it doesn't matter if that soldier was gay or not.

Nonetheless, this is a great way to deal with the protests.

WBC is gonna be protesting a children's funeral in Harrisburg, PA area this coming weekend. We've got some friends with a church out there, and they are organizing the church and the community to do a similar act for the family. If the SC rules like this, we can still do something about it, to make sure the grieving families don't have to deal with those loons.

My son said thanks. He used a couple of the comments here in his paper. He turns it in of friday. His first real term type of paper. 10th grade. I have read it and he did a pretty good job.
