Keeper - Jacob Tamme?

Postby Shark1225 » Thu Jun 16, 2011 5:06 pm

I see on the Colts depth chart he is listed as a FB now. Not sure how accurate that is since it doesn't even list Dallas Clark.

Our league we can keep 3 but one round ahead of where they were drafted last season(i.e. Moreno was drafted in round 4 last year, he could be kept for third round choice this year). Since Tamme obviously wasn't drafted he would be dirt cheap. What is the scoop on him? Back to obscurity or value as a second TE sharing time with Clark?

If you are only keeping 3 players then Tamme shouldn't even be on your radar ;-)

Tamme isn't worth drafting, so he isn't worth keeping.

I tend to agree with the other two posts. I can't imagine why you're even considering this.

He was good while filling in for Clark. I was hoping the Colts would try to save some bucks and unload Clark (he's got to be getting up the doesn't he?) and keep Tamme as their fulltime TE but looks very unlikely.

turned 32 5 days ago apparently.

He's one of Peyton's favorite targets, and I like to call him his security blanket. They both have a height advantage over many defenders. Everything I've read in Indy over last season about Clark's recovery is that he's fine. If Clark is fine, no other TE in Indy is worth a look. And he lowers the value of the periphery receivers. I doubt Collie would have been off to such a strong start last season if Dallas had been in the mix.

The only value Tamme has is a handcuff to Clark. But, I would never use a keeper on a backup TE

Tamme has no value unless Clark gets hurt again.

The only way I would draft Tamme is as a late-round handcuff if I owned Clark and rosters were very deep.

He is certainly not a keeper with a healthy Clark around.

I agree with everybody else. In a 3 man keeper league I probably wouldn't keep any TE who cost me a round higher than he was drafted.

I love Tamme because he helped me win my championship last year, but why keep him? He will be available in a late, late round for drafting.
