Trade draft pick for Vick or keep Romo

Postby Spacecowboy41 » Tue Jun 28, 2011 5:12 pm

I have a keeper league that I need to decide what i'm going to do with my QB situation. I currently have Romo, Cassel and Bradford on my roster, but was offered Vick for my 5th round pick. Is it worth keeping Romo or one of the others or snagging Vick for the draft pick? To throw a bigger kink in the decision I have the #1 overall pick this season (if there's a season). I can only keep one QB for my keeper.

Bonus question: My second keeper I have on my roster: Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Larry Fitz and Ryan Grant. Who would you keep?

Ideas?

Thanks!

So if I have this figured out correctly...you currently have 3 QBs with an option to get another (Vick) and can only keep 1.

I'd trade my 5th for Vick in a heartbeat and use him as my keeper. Try and sell your others for draft picks.

As for the other...it's between Turner and Fitz. I'd be inclined to go Turner here...but in a PPR I may keep Fitz and go RB immediately since I have first overall. Really depends on your scoring setting and who else is getting kept.

OR...you can just keep Turner and Fitz...but getting Vick for a 5th is a steal IMO.

Yeah, i'm thinking Vick at 5 is a good deal. A big risk reward to have him as my #1 QB. No love for Gore at the #2 keeper? I'm leaning on Turner, but would listen to arguments for Gore over him. Fitz was a non-factor last season and the QB situation hasn't improved there so i think he's off to FA for me.

Thanks!

I still have Gore in my top 10...but his coming off a major injury and then the 49ers drafting Kendall Hunter dropped him a couple spots for me. I still believe he will produce, just not as much.

Keeping Turner AND Gore/Fitz was essentially a non-factor, since you are getting a great deal in Vick for a 5th.

Vick for 5th is an absolute bargain.

Vick/Turner is probably the best combo, unless you expect something amazing from Fitz.

Guys you are missing the point entirely.

Here's what I'd do:

Trade for Vick and make him your QB keeper.
Keep Fitzgerald ok.

You have the first overall pick so this would allow you to resnag Turner or Gore or in a sense the best RB on the board. ;-D You control your own fate here bro and starting with Vick, the best WR and a top 5 back is well on your way to a championship.
