Greetings... any thoughts on which 3 to drop in my dynasty league??? Need to have submitted within a week or so... makes it tough for the guys with questions still unanswered.
We can drop either 1 defense or 1 kicker to count towards 1 of the 3... just can't drop both positions.
Philip Rivers Marques Colston Greg Jennings Mike Williams (TB) Chris Johnson Rashard Mendenhall Jason Witten Adrian Peterson Andre Johnson Jeremy Maclin Felix Jones Jacob Tamme Mike Tolbert Eli Manning Kyle Orton Brandon Tate Brandon Jackson Plaxico Burress Shayne Graham New York Jets
I'm thinking... SGraham, JTamme... then a toss up between a few for the last drop. Either:
KOrton - will he stay in Denver? could wind up starter for Denver (or another team) or be the backup to Tebow? PBurress - not sure where he will sign. could have a different role on each possible team. BTate - will he become a legit WR option in NE?
Other to choose from that have little value.... Mike Tolbert Brandon Tate Brandon Jackson
Orton and Burress both are proven and have possibilities.....but any of these three I wouldn't hesitate to drop....little value and will probably never see playing time on your team.
I agree with your choice to drop Graham and Tamme. I think your third drop should definitely be Plax, not Tate though. Here's why. Plax is now 33 years old. He hasn't played a snap of football since 2007. Anything he does this season will be his attempt to even get on an NFL team. He'll barely be fantasy worthy. At best he might be a bye week fill in, but honestly, I don't see him doing much at all. We have a great thread with a number of people weighing in on this exact topic in Football Leftovers if you want more than just me saying it. This thread also has some discussion about the impact of WHERE he lands and how that will affect his value. The consensus is at best he'll be a bye week fill in that could maybe get you a few points, and not much else. (found here.)
As for why I think you should keep Tate, here's my take. I love the kid. He's a fast deep threat, something that the Pats have lacked since the departure of Randy Moss. He's in his third year (if you believe the 3rd year WR "strategy") and anyone catching the ball from Brady is worthwhile. NE is still a pass first offense, and they've got good slot guys in Edelman and Welker, two good TEs, but they really lack a deep threat. If Tate can step in and play this role, he'll be very valuable. Worth a keeper pick and definitely a good guy to have in a dynasty league.
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies! Not sure how I completely forgot about BJackson. He's my guy for 3rd drop. We actually got the drop time pushed back so I can see what happens with the question mark guys... worst case they can be FA drops. Thanks again!
Tamme Graham Burress (There is very little reason to believe a guy 2 years removed from the league will come back to enough success to warrant a roster spot.
Graham and Tamme are, indeed, easy choices. As for the third, I think I'd jettison Orton IF it's a 1-QB league and dream on the upside of Burress since you have the depth to do so. If it's a 2-QB league then I'd probably drop either Brandon Jackson or Plax (in that order IMO) ...
