Need to pick one keeper (Calvin Johnson or McFadden)

Postby Freddy735 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 10:33 pm

So I need to pick one keeper out of these two guys:

Calvin Johnson or Darren McFadden

Im in a PPR league, standard scoring. I love Calvin, but I think Mcfadden might have a bigger year than last year. Im really at a cross roads.

Need advice!

In terms of ADP I think it is smart to keep Megatron here.

Who are your other keepers?

My other Keeper is Drew Brees. I do have Steven Jackson as well, but I have kept him for the past 4 years and I dont see as any better that Johnson or McFadden,

I think you should keep Calvin AND McFadden. Especially in a PPR. Brees will be available for you to draft.

Like Venom, I agree that it would be a far better idea to keep Megatron and RunDMC. While Brees is definitely gonna be a top 5 QB, In a ppr, I'd rather have a top 5 WR and a potential top 10 RB who adds in the receiving game than a WR and QB. Like he said, you'll almost certainly have a chance to grab Brees or a comparable QB in the draft. Do you have to give up picks for each of those guys? And do you have an idea of who will be kept?

Thanks for the feedback, no I don't have to give up anything to keep those guys and, yes I'll know who everybody else will be keeping. I have the 5th pick, so maybe brews will slide to me..

It would be tough letting go of a top 3/5 QB though.....

Yes, tough to throw back a top QB... but QB is deeper than it's ever been, with not a huge separation between QB3-QB8.

DMac and Calvin are your best bets from a value standpoint.

This. I would not keep any QB over these guys to be honest, so I think it's a no brainer since you "only" have Brees ;-D

How many teams are in your league? Numbers will start to come into play.

With the 5th pick there is no way that you would get Megatron and very low expecatation to get DMC back. I think there is a chance to get Brees(depending who else is available/who is kept/if you want him back). I think Calvin and DMC make a very nice starting 2 especially in a keeper league ;-D

Thanks for the feedback. There are 10 teams in the league. Just about all big name QB will be kept. So I think the likelihood of brees being around at 5 would be slim to none.
