RB Rankings

Postby Wolfpac11680 » Tue Jul 19, 2011 4:54 pm

I'll have slim pickings when I pick at the end of round 1 and I need to go RB. My best guess are the following available RBs, how do you rank them:
- Gore
- Forte
- Moreno

Thanks

Forte ahead of Gore. (Moreno isn't even in the picture).

Forte is younger, very talented and the focal point of a better offense.

Gore is older, injury prone and SF doesn't have a reliable QB. Gore will prolly be ranked higher but I'd rather have Forte, I think he is safer and has more upside. Forte is a beast!

Personally, I do like Forte ahead of Gore as well this year. I think Forte is being largely overlooked in most drafts as he somewhat quietly put together a nice season last year and he doesn't have the same durability concerns that Gore has. He had a higher YPC and is on what will probably be a higher scoring offense than Gore so I'd put him slightly ahead of Gore and both of them miles and miles ahead of Moreno.

Id go Forte, Gore then Moreno.

My only dissagreement with the above is about Moreno. I feel in a run oriented offense he could surprise. Moreno put up 1100/8 last year while missing 3 games, hurting his ribs in another in which he left early, and was then questionable the next 2 getting only a handfull of carries. The big question about him in my book is durability. If he can stay healthy he could end up putting up something in the neighborhood 1500 and 12.

Even being a 49ers fan I'd have to rate Forte ahead of Gore and Moreno a round or two later. Forte has a better, and more stable qb situation, he is in the second year of the Mike Martz offense. I can see him getting more and more like a Faulk with 1200 yards rushing and 600+ yards rec. Gore if healthy can be a top rb, but that is the question, can he stay healthy. Moreno can be a quality rb, but in his two years he hasn't stayed healthy, he is in a new offense so I wouldn't want to depend on him for much more than a #2 rb. Good luck.

If Gore can stay healthy, he's the choice here. He also has a favorable playoff run, except for the Steeler game.

There was so much hate on Forte going into last year (by me, especially) that people are still undervaluing him.

He's got to be the pick here. And Moreno isn't close to Forte or Gore. Not even within two tiers, IMO.

Forte's on a better offense, with a better OC, has great receiving ability (so his yardage is relatively stable game to game) and lacks an injury history. I'm a huge part of the "can't predict an injury" crowd, but Gore's got an extensive history there. SFO has crap at QB. Chicago, on the other hand, has a very solid, young offense that grew last year and should grow again this year.

Forte all the way. He's undervalued this year.
