We used to have the same problem. Yahoo has a trade evaluator feature. If four or more people reject the trade it goes to Yahoo for review. They respond within 24 hours on whether or not trade is fair. The service costs $40 for the year which isn't bad.

ESPN also has a similar service but only for the Prize Eligible leagues. Hope this help.

Those tools are nice but they aren't likely to fix the problem of arguments and owners quitting.

It is likely your league rules are at fault.

If you league allows owners to negotiate a trade, and then has the league owners vote on whether the trade should be allowed or not, then you are doomed to arguments.

Your league rules should allow any trade to occur, as long as you have protections in place to prevent/punish collusion and your team ownership rules are drawn up in a way that prevents owners of 2 or more teams from acting in the interests of another owner. (i.e. - no spouses that own other teams, etc)

i agree with spodog. In leagues where trades can be vetoed by a league vote, ive found that its nearly impossible to trade at all. Some owners will vote against any trade at all. Others will vote against trades involving certain teams they consider contenders or rivals, etc. It turns into a big pissing contest and then no trades happen at all. Especially when the voting is anonymous and owners dont have to state any reasoning to vote against a trade.
As long as it isnt collusion (or rediculous enough to suspect collusion) i let them pass even if i dont like them. A 3rd party evaluator would take the bias out of it, but i still feel like if you dont let an owner trade how he wants, then you're essentially running his team for him. Nobody can honestly judge a trade until after the season is played. Ive seen trades vetoed because the league thought they were uneven and then the lower player outperformed, or the better player got hurt, etc and the trading team feels cheated. just my thoughts.
but in answer to the question, last season yahoo started a trade evaluator which just showed the difference in predicted fantasy points for each team based on the trade,( its nearly impossible to get one even), but i feel like it takes all the fun out of trading.

I've seen this happen as well. When there is the option of voting on trades, people will use their vote for their competitive advantage instead of impartially deciding if the trade is fair or not...and in doing so, almost no trades go through. All trades should go through unless collusion is suspected.

...or, I can arbitrate all trades for $.99 each. Optional gifts would be taken into consideration during arbitration as well. ;-)
