[proposed keepers in blue, tentative keepers in red] QB: Michael Vick, Tony Romo, Matt Cassel WR: Dwayne Bowe, DeSean Jackson, Stevie Johnson, Dexter McCluster, Mike Sims-Walker, Kevin Walter, Roy Williams RB: Ahmad Bradshaw, DeAngelo Williams, Peyton Hillis, Montario Hardesty, Brandon Jacobs, Darren Sproles TE: Vernon Davis K: Akers DEF: Steelers DB: Cortland Finnegan, Antrel Rolle, Gibril Wilson LB: Jerod Mayo, Chad Greenway D: Bradie James, DeMarcus Ware
I'd be keeping Hillis over Hardesty for sure, and I think he's quite a bit above Johnson as well. I think you have two fringe WR1s, so letting Johnson go is easier than RB where you kind of have two middle-of-the-pack RB2s (I think Hillis is still, barely, your top RB to be honest). The defensive starters look right to me, though I'm far from brushed up on my IDPers at this point in the offseason
BTW, I'm a bit puzzled by you terminology in a few spots - what's "keeper format" mean right below starters? I thought on a first read that you had an OP spot and thought you were set with Vick and Romo, but the more I read I'm pretty sure you only start one QB and pretty standard numbers elsewhere as well. If it's a 1-QB league, I'd try to deal one of those guys pre-keepers if possible to upgrade at RB. If not before keepers, at least before the draft at some point I'd try to shop Vick + something for a top-5 RB, or Romo and someone for a top-10-type RB.
I would look into trading Romo. I would keep Hillis easy
WaCoug - the Keeper format - as I understand it is the number they are allowed to keep - they have to keep at least 1 QB,WR,RB then 5 others on offense
You have alot of talent on your team and alot of keepers for a league overall. Someone needs help and you should provide it. Of course, in return for a stud. Look to deal a combo of Romo, HIllis and Johnson for a truly elite keeper.
So I traded Vick for Forte and Rondo (3-sport keeper league). This replaces Vick with Forte, but leaves me one player to keep between Stevie Johnson and Peyton Hillis. Thoughts?
