Trade Help Needed

Postby Conrax » Thu Aug 04, 2011 11:15 am

Some notes about the league: It is a 16 team, H2H points, 4 Keeper (3 any, 1 must be IDP), .5 PPR. The rest of the scoring is pretty standard (uses ESPN standard where QB TDs are 4 points)

Here is the proposed trade and it is a three way trade:
Me giving: Vincent Jackson and Matthew Stafford
Me getting: Tom Brady and probably Jordy Nelson or Pierre Garcon

ATL gives: Freeman, Kyle Williams, DT, Jordy Nelson or Pierre Garcon
ATL gets: Stafford, Vincent Jackson, and Marcell Dareus, DT

TB gives: Brady and Marcell Dareus, DT
TB gets: Freeman and Kyle Williams

They have tried this before because ATL really wants Stafford and Jackson but this is the first time they actually added a QB that could be beneficial to me, though I don't like losing Vincent Jackson who is in that Charger's passing offense with Antonio Gates being injured. But I do have Steve Smith but I haven't heard anything about his situation and if he does stay in Carolina he is paired with a rookie QB possibly. So what should I do?

Here is the Actual roster (Note there are three IR spots that are available):

QB Matthew Stafford, Det QB
RB Jonathan Stewart, Car RB
RB Mark Ingram, NO RB
WR Andre Johnson, Hou WR P
WR Vincent Jackson, SD WR
TE Owen Daniels, Hou TE
DT Ahtyba Rubin, Cle DT
DE Jason Babin, Ten DE
LB Barrett Ruud, TB LB
LB James Anderson, Car LB
CB Ronde Barber, TB CB
S LaRon Landry, WSH S
D/ST Packers D/ST D/ST
K Stephen Gostkowski, NE K
Bench Matt Cassel, KC QB
Bench Steve Smith, Car WR
Bench Cadillac Williams, TB RB
Bench Bradie James, Dal LB
Bench Calais Campbell, Ari DE
Bench Kurt Coleman, Phi S
Bench Chiefs D/ST D/ST
Bench Asante Samuel, Phi CB
Bench LaDainian Tomlinson, NYJ RB
Bench Phillip Taylor, Cle DT

So you have already drafted? 16-team league I would be looking to get more RB depth. I would not make that trade

Cassell and Stafford will be solid enough for you in a platoon situation and you take a pretty good hit at WR if you deal VJax away. Stay where you are. If dude wants Stafford, work a deal to improve your RB's and preferably your keeper situation.

Then roll the dice and hope the QB situation doesn't kill ya.

I see VJax as the best player in the deal, and Stafford has a lot of upside. Brady is obviously a nice QB but is getting older, and I don't see Garcon or Nelson making up near enough value to make this deal fair for you. I would pass.

I wouldn't do this deal.

ATL is the winner in the trade IMO.
