Yahoo! consolation bracket

anyone know how Yahoo! seeds their consolation playoff bracket with the following setup?
10 team league
4 teams make the real playoffs
playoffs weeks 15 & 16

do the 9 & 10 seed not make the consolation bracket?
does the 5 & 6 seed get a bye into the consolation championship?

As for your question, 9th and 10th aren't part of the consolation bracket in a 10-teamer structured like that. You'd have to make notes on your own (think Yahoo tabulates their weekly points still) if those places have draft pick implications, etc.

On way around this is to play semifinals of the winners' bracket in week 14 and have a two-week championship matchup in weeks 15 and 16.

Then on the losers' side, you can play 7/10 and 8/9 matchups in week 14 (with Nos. 5 and 6 getting byes) and then play a consolation semifinal with 5 vs. 8/9 winner and 6 vs. 7/10 winner - then both of those winners play and you have top-to-bottom consolation order of finish.
