Rice or McCoy

Hi,

I'm picking 5th in a 12-team non-PPR league & wanted to know what your thoughts are on Rice v McCoy.
With the addition of a Leach in Balt should help Rice but with the Eagles & McCoy you know they're gonna put up points so McCoy as more opportunities for points.

As for the question at hand, I do like both this year, but I don't think you're going to have a chance at Rice at 5. Rice has been shooting up draft boards and going regularly at 1-2 in drafts I've seen ongoing. If Rice is there, he'll be the more consistent option to take at five, but the likely thing is you'll have McCoy available. I'd be fine taking McCoy at 5. Good luck out there.

six and a half, half dozen of another. Sorry but I have them rated exactly the same.

Rice- PROS: Willis and Leron are gone. Vonte Leach is his new lead blocker. Heap and Mason (Flacco security blanket) are gone. They like to pound the ball.
CONS: Ricky is in. He never has been a huge TD guy. Plays in a tough division.

Mccoy: PROS: Younger. Scores TDS, Explosive offense.
CONS: explosive offense with plenty of options, ronnie brown and VICK vulture goal line TDs.

I think both will endup around 1200 yards 8tds rushing and 550 yards and 2 tds receiving.

If you're lucky enough to have Rice fall to you, take it. I think McCoy is going to have a decent season, but I don't think he's going to do as well as everyone is hoping.

So, I'm not a McCoy fan. To much of a mess in Philly with Mr. Vick sucking up all the offense. Not sure a RB will fair as well as people are hoping. Guess that means I'm saying go with Rice. Non-PPR league, he's a great back to get.

Leads me to my next question back at you -- if you don't get Rice, who is going 4th like clockwork, at spot 5, you're more likely going to have to decide between McCoy and Jamaal Charles... right?

Gotta go with Rice, and it wouldn't shock me if he fell to you. In the drafts I've been in I've seen him fall as far as 9th....and theres no reason for that. You will do great with either one, but Rice > shady

As of right now there's 2 different scenarios that could play out with the top 4.
This is what I know so far.

1. Charles 1. Charles
2. Peterson 2. Johnson or Foster
3. Foster 3. Peterson
4. Johnson 4. If Johnson is taken @ 2. This team will NOT pick Foster or Rice
5. My pick 5. Depending on this scenario I could have the possibility of Foster, Rice, etc.

Charles, Johnson & Peterson will be gone by the time it gets to me with the long shot possibility of Foster or Rice being up for grabs.
