Trade My 2nd, 4th, 5th, & 7th round picks for Jamaal Charles

Postby futureprodigy88 » Sun Aug 14, 2011 9:40 am

I am in a 12 team keeper league where each team keeps two players. My two players are MJD and Calvin Johnson. I was offered Jamaal Charles for my 2nd. 4th, 5th, and 7th round picks. Since this is a keepers league and 24 players are off the draft board those picks are really considered 4th, 6th, 7th, and 9th round picks. I have an extra 5th round pick that I obtained last year in a trade.

Below is my team as of now!

Jones-Drew, Maurice JAC RB -
Johnson, Calvin DET WR -
Year 2011 Draft Pick 1.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 2.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 3.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 4.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 5.08
Year 2011 Draft Pick 5.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 6.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 7.08
Year 2011 Draft Pick 8.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 9.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 10.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 11.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 12.04
Year 2011 Draft Pick 13.09
Year 2011 Draft Pick 14.04

EDIT: I do not have to give back any of my two keepers back...I can have 3 keepers if i trade for one! The other manager will be shorthanded a keeper but will have extra picks. Either way there will only be 24 keepers..10 teams have 2..1 team 3...1 team 1 if this trade is accepted.

I counter-offered Jamaal Charles 11th & 12th round picks for my 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th round picks. What you think????

Thanks for the help on mine. This is a tough call. Basically Charles is 4-7 pick overall. You're giving up picks 44, 64, 78, 99 for that. Makes your starting team much better, but you will be missing out on some good depth. Like I said, tough call, but I'd say pull the trigger!

Looks like you trade stud point getter for depth. I would make the trade and do my homework on possible sleepers in later rounds. Good Luck!

Don't think I would do that. You are giving up too much depth for a stud and then you have to give back one of the two guys you would have already kept as well. Too steep a price.

Thanks for the help on mine.

Gotta say no way. 4 draft picks is an awful lot, no matter who it is

if you have to give one of your original keepers back, then definitely no way!

thanks for helping with mine.

I would say no here, for the simple reason of depth. 4 draft picks is a lot and although Charles is a stud, if he misses a game or two (or more) then you could be in trouble. I would sub having Charles for a slightly lower tier guy with depth

I agree ... way too much to give up for one guy. one of those 2nd , 4th , 5th, and 7th round picks can turn out to be a stud just like him
