10 Team 0.5ppr draft HAVE TO CHOOSE 1 of 2 teams!

Postby ampant » Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:42 am

Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1DST, 1K

*UPDATE - I have to pick one of the two teams in a 10-team money league. Which Team to pick? Please tell me why.

Team 1
QBs - Eli Manning, Josh Freeman
RBs - Charles, Turner, Best, Benson, D Thomas, T Gerhart
WRs - Deshawn Jackson, Austin, Boldin, Mike Thomas, R Williams
TEs - Witten, Olsen
D/ST - OAK, DET
K Hartley

Team 2
QBs - Romo, Cutler
RBs - Foster, Gore, Felix Jones, Lynch, Tolbert, Ryan Williams
WRs - Calvin Johnson, V Jackson, Britt, S Moss, D Bess
TEs - O Daniels, K Winslow
D/ST - DAL, StL
K - Rackers

My thoughts . . . QB slight edge to Team 2, but I like Freeman better than Cutler. Romo and Eli both have cake Strength of Schedule for QBs. Romo has better weapons in Felix Jones, Austin, Bryant and Witten.

RBs - tough. RB1 Foster>Charles (probably) , but I am hearing reports Foster's got hammy issues already. RB2 I feel safer with Turner. ATL has one of the easiest RB schedules. SF's isn'tbad, but the whole QB situation in SF sux. Best vs Jones is probably a tossup, except DAL has a much easier rushing schedule. Benson > Lynch probably. Team 2 more upside, more risk.

WRs' - I love both rosters. CJ is monster, but Stafford has to remain healthy, and he's got a touch schedule Kenny Britt is reporting hamstring issues again already . . (that's 2 hammys on team 2 so far). Santana Moss might be seeing a lot of playing time in my lineup because WAS has a cake schedule and he is looking good so far in preseason. For Team 1 PHI has one of the softest schedules vs WRs. I think DJax could outscore Megatron. Boldin and Austin are both studs.

TE - Witten > everybody else.

I agree that both of these teams are very solid.

Its tough to call, so I'll try and break it down:
QB - Advantage team 2. Manning and Freeman will likely make a nice QBBC but Romo could break into the elite QB group with all the talent he has around him.
RB - Push. Or slight advantage team 1. I like the top 2 backs of Team 2 (Foster, Gore) a smidge more than Team 1 (Charles, Turner) but Team 1 has the edge of Best over Jones and more depth.
WR - Advantage team 2. A very solid top 3 of Megatron, VJax and Britt. If Britt can avoid suspension I expect a huge year. DJax is a bit of a flaky WR1 in a .5 PPR league.
TE - Advantage team 1. Witten is a stud and is poised for another high reception season. Daniels and Winslow are both very solid, so team 2 isn't far behind.

I'm not going to go into huge depth for D/STs and K. For me it all comes back down to the lineup. If this roster had a flex slot I might consider Team 1 to be stronger, but 2 RB and 3 WR just tips it in the favor or Team 2. The slight advantage of Romo over Eli/Freeman makes up for the loss at TE.

I see both teams being competitive in 2011, though. Good luck ;-D

For me, I think it's Team 2, but it's not quite as close as LMack has it. I think Romo/Cutler has a pretty distinct advantage over the other two because it's got the best player of the four and probably the 3rd-best as his backup. As for RB, I like team 2's RBs almost across the board better other than the fact Daniel Thomas is probably a better RB4 by a hair. Team 2 gets the better of Team 1 at every WR spot other than WR5 in my book, though there are a lot of close calls. Team 1 has the better TE starter, but it's even not that far off either, especially when looking at both tandems. Don't really care about D or K, though team A prolly wins those on paper by a small margin.

If I were to give them final grades, I'd say Team 1 gets a B/B+ and Team 2 gets an A- ;-D

Team 2 all the way. I like Romo as the QB alot to bounce back. My thoughts are your RB's across the board with team 2 are very solid and pass catching backs. With Cincy's offense problems, I dont like Benson at all as your 3rd RB on team 1. He will struggle. Top 2 WR's on team 2 very nice as well.

To me, its a no brainer when looking at this, its team #2 all the way!

Team 2. When your starters are that nice, depth matters a little bit less
