Dynasty league rookie pick

Postby dblj9911 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:54 am

I'm in a 10 team dynasty league and trying to figure out who to take with my first round rookie pick at 1.9. I am pretty solid at most every position, so it would be purely for a depth / future trade bait type player. We have a standard scoring league, 1ppr, 6pts all tds. We start 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 2 idp. So who do you think I should take and why????
My Roster:
QB- Ryan, Eli, Palmer
WR- Fitz, Calvin, Colston, Steve Johnson, M. Thomas, S. Rice
RB- AP, DWill, Benson, Green-Ellis, M. Bush, Starks, R. Brown, Hardesty
TE- Clark, Daniels, Gronkowski

I'm thinking that Ingrahm(NO), AJ Green(Cincy), J. Jones(ATl), Thomas(Mia), Willams (Ariz) will all be gone, after that it is a crap shoot. Who should I look at, any ideas on anyone who could produce in the next few years?? Thanks for looking.

I may be able to sneak into the 5th pick by making a trade, assuming it would be Williams from Arizona, is he worth it or should I sit still??

Kind of depends what you are giving up.

After the big 3, it is all a crap shoot. Williams and Daniels have more of an edge but still, just a crap shoot.

I think you need a RB so I would be looking at Helu and Vereen. YOu can even grab Leshoure is my guess and just stash him if you think he has the legs to come back.

A recent Cafe dynasty league just looked like this:
1.01 - Mark Ingram - RB, NO
1.02 - Julio Jones, WR - ATL
1.03 - Daniel Thomas - RB, Miami
1.04 - AJ Green - WR, CIN
1.05 - Ryan Williams - RB, AZ
1.06 - Greg Little, WR - CLE
1.07 - Torrey Smith - WR, BAL
1.08 - Delone Carter RB indy
1.09 - Shane Vereen - RB,NE
1.10 - Jonathon Baldwin - WR, KC

I would hope that it looks similar to what is posted above and take Vereen - if he is gone I would look at Helu

The owner of the 1.5 pick needs help at wr and te, what if I offered Gronkowski and S. Johnson for his 1.5? Think he would go for it, or am I giving up too much? I'm also playing off the fact that he is a Bills fan and my go after Johnson in this deal.

Giving up way too much. I will try and acquire a 1.05 and you can trade me Johnson and Gronk in an interleague deal??? :-b
