Y! 12 Team PPR - WHIR

Postby Chicago 2 » Mon Aug 22, 2011 9:18 am

I had the 6th pick in the draft, I feel like I have a great team but I'd like to bring my bias down to earth and seek some outside opinions. Thought I had a great team last year but missed the playoffs.

Yahoo 12 Teams
.5 Pt/Reception
6 Pts for all TDs

QB Eli Manning
WR Dez Bryant
WR Mario Manningham
RB Jamaal Charles
RB Frank Gore
TE Brandon Pettigrew
W/R Matt Forte
K Garret Hartley
DEF New York Giants

BN Daniel Thomas
BN Mike Thomas
BN Sam Bradford
BN Jared Cook
BN James Starks
BN Greg Little

WHIR, thanks.

I think this team certainly has the potential to be in the race all season. Nice to have such strong options at RB- in a PPR having those pass catching RB is always a plus. I think your weak spot is clearly WR- given that your options at QB and TE are not elite, I would have liked to see a better WR corps. In a full PPR, a real ace receiver with 100 ball potential is a must, IMHO. However, I think the best way to be weak at a position is when you have young, somewhat unproven talent there with the potential to explode, just like you do here. I love Dez as a WR2 and Mario as a WR3, both with the potential to become WR1 and WR2 respectively, so if that turns out to be the case, you have a great squad.

I think your bench has some decent depth with the potential to become good enough to either play or trade away in packages, so just be on your toes. I wouldn't make any immediate changes but be on the lookout. good luck!

Take a look at mine if you get a chance-

You have a great RB core for a PPR league. I had the same 6th pick and ended up with Charles/Gore as well. However, you are in a PPR league, while your RBs are good in that dept, you are relatively weak in the WR dept. You have no true #1 WR, with high hopes for Dez, he still has to fight off Miles/Williams for action.

I would think about packaging Forte/Manningham/Bryant for a true #1.

Thanks, I assume by Williams you mean Witten ;-)

I definitely could upgrade at receiver, which is why I'm hoping Daniel Thomas has a great start because then I can easily trade a RB.
