I'm looking for more overall general strategy. I've been posting around on here all summer waiting to get to this post! Our positions:
QB RB RB RB/WR WR WR TE K DEF (I'll refer to the RB/WR as flex) and 6BEN
8 man league, so pool is deeeep.
My keepers are 3x RB and 2x WR. So my NEEDS are QB, TE, and Ben (I play def week to week since we have FA instead of waivers)
Here are the list of the better players in the pool at each position and what each player needs:
QB
Philip Rivers
Tom Brady
Matt Ryan
WR
Reggie Wayne
Mike Williams (TB)
Dez Bryant
Jeremy Maclin
Brandon Lloyd
Chad Ochocinco
B. Marshall
Collie
Manningham
Britt
AJ Green
Julio Jones
RB
Shonn Greene
Hillis
blount
DeAngelo Williams
D. Thomas
R. Mathews
Moreno
ingram
addai
law firm
felix jones
beanie wells
TE
gates
clark
davis
witten
daniels
graham
winslow
Our 'flex' is only RB or WR
Pick 1: RB1, WR1, Flex, TE
Pick 2: QB, RB2, Flex
Pick 3: Flex, TE
Pick 4: QB, Flex, TE
Pick 5: Flex, TE
Pick 6: ME
Pick 7: WR1,Flex
Pick 8: WR1, WR2, Flex (had CJ), TE
R2:
Pick 9: WR2, Flex, TE //assuming WR round 1
Pick 10: Flex //assuming WR round 1
Pick 11: ME again
Pick 12: TE //Assuming flex R1
Pick 13: Flex, TE //Assuming QB R1
Pick 14: TE //Assuming Flex R1
Pick 15: me again
That's their needs and since it's snake, I lined up what I projected through R2 (I get two R2 picks). My thoughts are that R1 I have to get a QB. If pick 2 and 4 get Brady/Rivers, that leaves me with Ryan -- a pretty solid choice, yes? But then, since no one needs a QB at that point, I've been considering taking the best RB value available in R1. Then R2 I can try to pick up another RB/WR/TE with my first pick and, since no one new needs a QB, try to get Ryan as my 2nd pick in the 2nd round?
Thoughts?
