Colts sign QB Collins/Orlovsky/?

In a move that says more about Peyton's neck than the front office ever will. I'm beginning to wonder about week 1 and Manning's consecutive starts streak.

The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Dan Orlovsky , according to a league source.

With starting quarterback Kerry Collins battling concussion-like symptoms following the Colts' 23-20 Sunday night loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers , the Colts auditioned Orlovsky and ex-Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle on Tuesday, the Indianapolis Star reported .

honestly i cant imagine it getting any worse than painter. sure....he had a couple of nice passes on the TD drive...but he looked absolutely terrible the rest of that game. i cant get the overthrow over a wide open garcon out of my head...that would have won the game

What does Orlovsky have to do with the Colts? Is he on the Colts?... I realize that Orlovsky is beyond bad but why cant the Colts find someone that can throw a football? Its the freaking NFL. I mean come on. Collins and Painter should no longer be options IMO. Find someone that can throw a football.

They have (had?) options. I'm sure Seattle would be happy to deal Charlie Whitehurst for some draft picks. They could try to get Tebow or Quinn from Denver. I think Garrard is still a free agent. Carson Palmer? IDK but their lack of readiness is stunning. Too late now, or maybe not, if grandpa Collins can semi-learn the playbook in two weeks, maybe they can still make a move at QB.

I find it interesting that Irsay said Peyton won't play this year, but they aren't putting him on IR so he can practice. There is only one reason to do that...you have no hope you'll make the playoffs and this way Peyton can finish the season practicing with the team to get ready for next year.

At this point, I don't see them giving up any draft picks to get a QB that is only there to help them lose 11 of the next 13 games. Any guy off the street can do that for you.

Maybe this not trying to win philosophyy is just Indy's way of keeping Luck away from the Jaguars for the next 4 years until they need him????

I've been saying this for years. If I googled "all my eggs in one basket" I would expect to be taken to Irsay's wikipedia page. But hey, at least @JimIrsay is active on twitter. I bet he's even sent a FB friend request to Jeff George.

I bet he could even find Steve DeBerg on Myspace.
