Brees for Roddy White

I am in a 10 team, H2H, 200 pt ESPN Auction - 2 player keeper league.

My current teams sits as this:

QB - Freeman, Sanchez, Orton
RB - Chaarles, Turner, Felix, Jennings, Ricky Williams
WR - White, Austin, Holmes, AJ Green, R. Meachem
TE - G. Olsen

I was offered D. Brees (keeper price of 42) for my Roddy White (keeper price of 41).

A lot of people are high on Freeman having a good year, but I'm not sure yet. So I'm not sure if I can justify getting rid of my #1 WR for an improvement in my QB from Freeman to Brees, especially since I only have Meachem or AJ Green as my backups.

The best WR left on the FA market are:
D. Bess
D. Driver
N. Burleson
J. Simpson

So pretty slim pickings.

Any thoughts on if this would be a good trade for me? WHIP!

Burleson could put up some decent numbers i'd snatch him up....

I wouldn't discount Orton, at least early on in the season. I would keep Roddy

Any other thoughts on this? the guy thinks im crazy for not taking Brees. I'm just seeing that Freeman is ranked as a high QB2, but im afraid i'm giving up too much when it comes to my downgrade in WR.

Don't do it. The guy is just trying to trick you. From a value standpoint alone, Roddy White is a high 2nd round pick, and arguably the best player at his position. Brees is more like a 3rd round pick at best, and can only really be argued as a top 3-4 player at his position. You're much better off keeping your team as is and going forward with Freeman, who should be fine this year.

If you are concerned about a low ceiling for Freeman, target someone lower on the food chain of QB's, like a Roethlisberger, Schaub, or Romo. These 3 guys are very underrated and should all be great fantasy QB's this year with high ceilings. Also, if you're sold on upgrading at QB, you should be trying to include Freeman in the deal, so you don't have to give up as much value at other positions, since Freeman wouldn't play for you anyways.
