Not a fan but..

In PPR I think Hernandez would be the play

TD only def Gronk

Combination: something like 1 pt / 10 yds 6pts TD 1/2 pt ppr - I would probably ride with Gronk. They go 2 TE formations alot so both are on the field and out in the route, truthfully one really isnt much better than the other. Gronk in the redzone takes the tie-breaker.

It's Gronk and it's not close. Arguably Gronk is now Brady's #1 red zone target. Hernandez is a sexy player and is sure talented, but doesn't get those TDs like Gronk does.

This. They will probably be close in yards (I still give gronk the edge here though), hernandez will have more receptions, but even in PPR there wont be enough receptions to make up for what will be a HUGE difference in TDs in gronk's favor.

IMO both are startable to 12 team and bigger leagues.

Matter of fact, I have a NE TE on all 5 teams I've drafted thus far, I'm fairly certain it will end up being 7 of 7 come Sunday.

Can't say either are an elite option going into the season, but both put up incredibly productive numbers their rookie season - combined for 87 catches, 1109 yards, 16 TD - as rookies (Gronk 16 games, 42 catches, 546 yards, 10 TD. Hernandez 14 games, 45 catches, 6 TD). Both will be integral pieces to the NE offense - and any integral part of that offense is draftable.

Based on ADP, Hernandez is the better value - current ADP over at FFtoolbox is bargin bin 140.85 (middle of the 12th in 12 team), Gronkowski is going at 104.48 (middle of the 8th).

In practices, Brady is looking to Gronk down the red zone every time he gets in trouble. At least that's what they reported locally in Week 3.

I like Hernandez more personally, I got him in both my leagues. I think Hernandez will have more rec & yards and Gronk more TD.

Meh, this is too tough to call. Hernandez is a freak of nature and is obviously the most exciting TE but due to the lack of TDs he'll put up some real pedestrian numbers from time to time. I'm staying away from both.

I do wonder if OchoSinkhole doesn't work out that they wouldn't look to Hernandez to pick up the slack. Seems that he has way more upside than Gronkowski, but the redzone belongs to Gronk for now.
