Please Rate My Upside Down Draft

Postby tannerirons » Sun Aug 28, 2011 9:23 pm

:-) Please rate my draft. I used the upside down strategy this year. That is when you draft positions other than rbs while everyone is taking rbs in the first few rounds. Then you draft a bunch of rbs late and hope they break out. This is based on the stat that on average 8 out of the top 12 rbs from the previous year change. I had pick #5 in a 12 team ppr league.
Team
QB-Matt Ryan
RB-Chris Johnson
RB-Beanie Wells
WR-Hakeem Nicks
WR-Dwayne Bowe
WR-Brandon Marshall
TE-Vernon Davis
Def/ST-San Diego
K-Billy Cundiff
Ben-Daniel Thomas
Ben-Mike Sims-Walker
Ben-Michael Crabtree
Ben-Michael Bush
Ben-Jacoby Ford
Ben-Rashad Jennings
Ben-Bernard Scott

Hope it pans out well for you....

QB - 8/10 (If Matt continues to throw as in preseason with Turner slowing down it will be a great pick)
RB - 6/10 (CJ isnt bad at 5, Beanie hopefully does well, but bench needed more upside players to fill gaps)
WR - 9/10 (If Nicks, Bowe n Marshall justify their upside then surely an excellent core)
TE - 8/10 (Consistent and top 5 TE potential)

Overall 7.5/10 in my opinion. With proper handling of FA for RBs it can be a top 2 team. Of course risk is there with that RB line up.

Still looks like solid enough team to at least make playoffs !!

I like your draft lots. I think CJ (now that he is signed) is a steal at #5. I think Bush, Ford, and Scott are all great backups and someone willl breakout. I also like handcuffing MJD with Jennings as MJD is coming off injury and he should get PT anyways. I think Bowe is overrated this year and I'm not too high on him, but with MSW and a few others, they could fill the gap if Bowe has a down year. Draft Grade A-.

Take a look at my 16 team draft and let me know what you think...
