OMG. I had no idea. This comes right out of left field. Had he been ill? Don't remember hearing anything about that. Geez, one of the few people on the radio I could stand listening to has passed. Bless you Tom 'Killer' Kowalski. You will be missed.

Pretty sad. He had a bit of a heart condition that came to light after the fact. Was in the hospital earlier thus year.

As most of you know I was on vacation this past week and just found out about this. Shocked is a huge understatement. I was a huge fan of his insights on the team - I read just about all of his articles and loved to listen to him on the radio - did I always agree with him...no, but he did always have something to back up his statements and more times than not he was right. He will truely be missed.


The Lions are naming the Press Area at Allen Park after him and are setting up a yearly scholarship program in his honor as well as giving a portion of the consession proceeds from the home opener to a few of his favorite charities.

That's awesome. Seems like you don't really know how much you enjoy someone until you feel the lack of them. Always thought Killer was too close to the flame to see beyond the cornbread fed Lions news, but he always had a opinion and I don't remember him ever being mean to his public. A rarity in this day and age.
