Need RB and WR depth

Postby markscott273 » Tue Aug 30, 2011 3:26 pm

Here's my team: (1 QB, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB, 2 WR, 1 K, 1 D/ST) Not a PPR league.

Rivers
Rice
Hightower
Harvin
Dez Bryant
Colston
Jimmy Graham
Eagles D/ST
Josh Brown

Bench
Matt Ryan
Woodhead
Ronnie Brown
Dustin Keller
Taiwan Jones
Mason Crosby (will be dropped in favor of Antonio Brown)
Saints D/ST (possibly dropped in favor of Denarius Moore or Delone Carter)

My question: Should I pick up any of these guys?

Denarius Moore
Ammendola
Marion Barber
Delone Carter
Donald Brown
Greg Little
stephens-Howling
Choice

I will probably drop the Saints D/ST to pick up some depth (since nobody in my league would trade for a defense). I really like Taiwan Jone's upside but I don't know if he's worth keeping a spot for.

What do you think?

I know it's not PPR but I'd still pick up Amendola. He'll still be Bradford's #1 target and should see an increase in TDs. I don't see the need of carrying two defenses so yeah drop Saints D.

I agree...Amendola is the only one worth his salt on that list, and there's never a point in carrying 2 DSTs.

So I dropped Mason Crosby for Antonio Brown. Now I need another RB. I will drop the Saints D/ST for one of these guys:

Donald Brown
Stevan Ridley
Delone Carter
Kendall Hunter
Tashard Choice
Javon Ringer

Which one out of the group would you choose?

My current RBs are: Ray Rice, Tim Hightower, Danny Woodhead, Ronnie Brown, Taiwan Jones

How long do you have to decide? I'd be tempted to take Brown since Addai seems to be getting injured more often the past couple seasons, but if Johnson gets eased into the season or gets injured early in because of his holdout, Ringer is going to be a decent play. I'd lean to Brown because he's backing up an 'old' guy, but Ringer would have more upside if Johnson goes down.

I really want to get it done before someone else picks one of these guys. I put in the transaction to drop Saints D/ST to pickup Delone Carter (mostly because I don´t trust Donald Brown) but I can cancel it before tomorrow.

Should I consider dropping Taiwan Jones (thought I love his upside) in favor of Javon Ringer?

I would pick up ringer and then think about trading Ryan and someone else for a RB upgrade, rivers and Ryan is somewhat overkill

I think that you have a decent team, good wr depth with your starters, most likely you would have to start 3wrs each week. I agree with dropping your back up K and def, you can get them as needed. I would add rb's to your team and hope that one of them breaks out. Good luck.
