Great starters, but how about my depth? Leave a link

Postby nhgent » Thu Sep 01, 2011 8:06 am

So, I had two solid keepers (Foster as a 3rd & McFadden as a 5th) in a 10 team PPR league on Yahoo. How does the rest of my team look??

QB - Michael Vick (Phi - QB)
WR - Miles Austin (Dal - WR)
WR - Marques Colston (NO - WR)
WR - Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
RB - Arian Foster (Hou - RB)
RB - Darren McFadden (Oak - RB)
TE - Antonio Gates (SD - TE)
K - Dan Carpenter (Mia - K)
DEF – Arizona (Ari - DEF)
Bench - Ben Tate (Hou - RB)
Bench - Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB)
Bench - Marshawn Lynch (Sea - RB)
Bench - Michael Crabtree (SF - WR)
Bench - Davone Bess (Mia - WR)
Bench - Willis McGahee (Den - RB)
Bench - Nate Burleson (Det - WR)
Bench - Darren Sproles (NO - RB)

Looks pretty strong to me. I have Colston on my roster, but I'm nervous that he won't get as many catches with so many other targets on the Saints.

I don't know how you got both Arian and Vick on the same team, but kudos to you! I really hate your bench though. I feel you could have found some more guys with upside or steal some handcuffs. Burleson, Lynch, Tate, and Big Ben are fine. McGahee might turn out to be a solid pickup as well. Hate Crabtree this year and Bess and Sproles have no upside whatsoever. I still give your team 10/10 based on your starters. Hopefully DMC and Colston stay healthy for you.

I like your Vick, Foster, and Run DMC nucleus. Miles Austin should have another great year if Romo is 100% back to his old form. Julio may be a stud if Roddy and Tony gets all the attention in the passing game. Big Ben as insurance to Vick is big. Colston is a toss up because of the spreading of the wealth with Meachem, Moore, and Henderson. Overall, I think you'll go far with this team.

Sorry, I forgot to mention your bench. Lynch is a solid bye week filler. Ben Tate seems more than capable to replace Foster if he does sit out from the hammy problem, but remember that Derrick Ward is still their primary backup. McGahee has potential as a goalline back, just like he was in his later years in Baltimore. Bess and Burelson are great #2 receivers, good for those bye weeks. You could probably drop Crabtree...he's coming off of an injury and the 49ers offense is not clicking. I don't think Sproles will get enough touches to be considered significant, so drop him too.

I disagree about Crabtree and Bess. Crabtree is going to be a huge part of their offense if they can ever get their stuff together. And Bess is a poor mans Welker, and his numbers have increased every single year hes been in the league.

Bess was a strategic pick for me (not just as a dolphin fan) due to the PPR format...I think there is definitely upside.

Hopefully, Colston stays halthy and Julio Jones pans out and Bess will just be that Bye Week fill in!!

It looks as if your first three pics were just like mine with the exception of Austin where as I took Hakeem. Solid team! wish I had more bench spots like your league. Makes the waiver wire interesting though. Anyway, have a great regular season as your warm up to the playoffs 'cause your definitely gonna be in the mix.
