Ok, so I know it still might be a bit early, but I was already looking at my week 1 matchups to see who Im going to start and Ive been going back and forth on my flex position, my options are FELIX JONES and STEVE JOHNSON.
FELIX JONES (DAL) - DALLAS @ NY JETS
STEVE JOHNSON (BUF) - BUFFALO @ KANSAS CITY
Felix is originally my starter, and a bigger fantasy point player, but he's gonna be playing against the very good Jets Defense, even though I believe the Jets pass defense is better than their run defense. Johnson on the other hand, will be playing against a Not so great Kansas City pass defense.
What do you guys think?
Here is the rest of my starting line up for reference:
TQB - BEARS (CUTLER) - ATLANTA @ CHICAGO RB - LESEAN MCCOY - PHILADELPHIA @ ST. LOUIS RB - RASHARD MENDENHALL - PITTSBURGH @ BALTIMORE FLEX - ??? WR - DEZ BRYANT - DALLAS @ NY JETS WR - SANTONIO HOLMES - DALLAS @ NY JETS TE - VERNON DAVIS - SEATTLE @ SAN FRANCISCO D/ST -EAGLES - PHILADELPHIA @ ST. LOUIS K - NATE KEADING - MINNESOTA @ SAN DIEGO
Yes, Johnson is a slightly better bet than Felix week 1. Jets are a top 10 defense and it's unlikely Felix will reach the end zone. KC is decent on defense as well but in this case they are the best of two evils.

So how does that change things? ... Felix or Johnson?
That works further in the favor of Johnson. There will be an urge to play Felix before he gets hurt, but I think you have to resist that Week 1. Particularly since you already have Dez Bryant going up against the Jets D.
(Also, remember this rule I learned years ago: Week 1 in FFL is always upside down. Don't trust anything you see, good or bad. It will probably change Week 2. Sometimes I secretly hope my team sucks Week 1 because that probably means a good season.)
I tend to favor running backs, but I also try and avoid player a running back and receiver from the same team. It's the Cowboys, so this shouldn't be too bad most weeks, but against the Jets? I'd feel safer with Johnson this week. Good luck!
