Philosophical question on Garrard

Postby Tim Riggins » Tue Sep 06, 2011 3:38 pm

So I drafted Peyton Manning and missed out on all the good backups, winding up with Garrard. (We drafted Sunday.) When the news broke Monday that Manning could be out for a while, I sent out an email to the league asking who wanted to trade me a QB. A guy said he'd trade Freeman for Garrard and Ryan Grant, which I offered and he immediately accepted.

Today, Garrard gets cut. Am I under any obligation to cancel the trade? Should I feel bad? I made it in good faith, and I think the cut surprised nearly everyone.

Everything is fair in love and fantasy football. Sometimes you win trades and sometimes you lose trades. He just ended up getting screwed. You aren't in any obligation to undo the trade.

doesn't matter. if garrard goes to Seattle and wins the starting gig, and starts putting up great numbers passing to some pretty good targets do you expect him to cancel the trade, and give you back garrard?

the only philosophical question I can think of regarding Garrard is 'what is the sound of no hands clapping?'

I flat dropped him a few days ago after picking up eli as a throw-in on another trade.

To answer your question, no you shouldn't cancel or undo the trade. Should you feel bad? That's up to you. But as the guy who has accepted a trade after lineups were locked (dumb, I know) for the weekend and then seen my new guy that I haven't even taken delivery on go down for the season, thems the breaks. I wouldn't feel bad about a trade he accepted in good faith, and he should bear you no ill will. ;-D

And garrard was probably inconsequential, he used the trade to get Grant and add to his RB depth.

Thanks Chaoyi Shih for the sig.

He does have Vick as his starter, so I doubt he's losing sleep on it.
