Trading for a top RB

Postby pokerplaya » Tue Sep 06, 2011 7:24 pm

12 team league, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 Flex, 1 TE, K, DEF, 4 Bench - PPR

My team:

QB: Drew Brees, Eli Manning
RB: Jahvid Best, Mark Ingram, Cedric Benson
WR: Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Percy Harvin, Pierre Garcon, Robert Meachem
TE: Rob Gronkowski, Brandon Pettigrew
DEF: New England
K: S. Janikowski

I like my team in general but my one concern is that I'm a bit light at RB. This caused me to put out a feeler for a back, and was given this offer which I'm considering...

I deal: Andre Johnson, Eli Manning for Mendenhall and Dez Bryant

Eli isn't pivital to this team with Brees, and Mendenhall would be a pretty solid upgrade. Instead of flexing Harvin/Benson I'd probably be flexing Harvin or Ingram...but obviously losing Andre Johnson is tough, and if Brees went down for any length, I'd be in trouble.

I haven't played fantasy football in a while so I'm curious on peoples thoughts...thanks. ;-D

That's actually a very solid trade. You don't need Manning at all, you can find another QB through the WW. Mendy is a top-ten back, and Bryant is very talented and may just be a top 10-15 WR. Clearly Andre is a loss, but I feel what you gain, more than replaces what you will be losing. Do it.

I would jump on that trade, ASAP. Dez is a pretty good replacement for AJ, and you score one Mendenhall for the loss of a backup QB.

That is a good deal you came up with if you can pull it off....as the previous poster said....the loss of Manning is insignificant compared to the upgrade.....if you cant swing that deal....I would possibly try and use one of your RBs along with Reggie Wayne and see if anyone will pull the trigger. Look for teams that are RB heavy or WR light....find teams that match up with the type of trade you are offering.

Looks like a solid trade to me, both teams could potentially be getting exactly what they want in the deal.

I agree with Bronxbomber though, if this trade falls apart try and package Wayne with another one of your RB's and see if you can get a top RB that way.
