Ray Rice for Fitzgerald (Non-PPR) WHIR!

Postby Remy » Wed Sep 07, 2011 5:26 pm

I have good RB depth with Ray Rice, McFadden, Forte and C. Benson, however other than Wallace as my WR 1, I feel I am weak at WR. This is not a PPR league and TD are worth 6 points and 1 point every 10 yards rec and rushing. You start 1 QB, 3 WR and 2 RB, 1 TE and 1DEF. I was offered Fitzgerald and either Bradshaw, D. Williams, LT or Ryan Matthews for Ray Rice and either Sidney Rice or Steve Smith.

Do you think D.McFadden, Forte, and Benson is a good core of RB's without R. Rice to upgrade at receiver with Fitzgerald? and which RB would you want thrown in with Fitz? Bradshaw, D. Williams, LT or Ryan Matthews.

Or should I stay put or target another Top Wide Receiver?
WHIR as usual. Thx

Line Up

QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB)
WR Mike Wallace (Pit - WR)
WR Mike Thomas (Jac - WR)
WR Sidney Rice (Sea - WR)
RB Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
RB Darren McFadden (Oak - RB)
TE Dallas Clark (Ind - TE)
K Rob Bironas (Ten - K)
DEF Atlanta (Atl - DEF)
Bench
Matt Forte
Cedric Benson
Steve Smith (Car)

Your RBs are fantastic but your WRs are below average. I would say that I would try to get Bradshaw and Fitz first. If not I would try to get DeAnglo Williams with Fitz. However just based on your roster I would be fine with just Rice for Fitz straight up. Good Luck!

I'd try and counter with McFadden (injury prone) and Sidney Rice (terrible situation) for Fitzy and Bradshaw. As much as I like Fitzy, Rice has a legit shot at being the #1 overall ffb player this year (even without receptions counting. his receiving yards still count!).

Completely agree. ;-D
If you can make this trade, it would be a great deal for you.

That's tough I would kick the tires on Forte for a WR before you part ways with Rice. Then if you can't get anything going for that work on getting a HB with Fitz like the other guys said.

Thanks for the help on mine.

In a non-PPR, I wouldn't make the trade.

I agree with the previous post, try to do a trade involving McFadden since he is an injury risk. If you trade away Rice and then McFadden gets injured yet again, you will be very weak at RB.

I don't like the current offer much at all.
Rice is the most solid player on your team and really I think you are only one starting WR away from a good place. I place Gibson, Ford and when healthy Smith in the solid #4 border 3 WR rank.
BUT
If you can get Fitz and Matthews or D Williams for someone like McFadden and Sidney Rice I'd do it. McFadden is a great player but has the injury risk and plays for Raiders and yet he still has that great last season smell about him that says 'Trade For Me"!
Hell Ray Rice, Forte, Benson and D Williams or Mathews would be a fantastic team of rbs!

Also when I have Big Ben I want a backup QB of some kind, just in case, but I don't know who I would drop on your team.

I think people here are giving you good advice. I wouldn't include Rice in that deal. I'd be looking to move McFadden instead. You might even just offer McFadden straight up for Fitz to see what happens, although a Fitz + Williams for McFadden + Rice would be spectacular for you. Williams is no longer elite, but he'll certainly be a serviceable plug-in should you need him. And if CAR leans on him heavily while Newton figures out what the hell is going on you might even be able to move him at peak value.

Please help me with my trade question: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=494721
