Am I nuts to sit Austin who is hurt and going against tough Jest D? My other WR are Maclin (coming off illness), B Edwards against weak Seattle, or Rooking Greg little. I am till leaning Austin.
QB Romo & Cutler; RB: R Grant, R Mathews, F Jones, F Jackson. M Tolbert. & C Williams; WR/TE used as same: G Jennings, A Gates, M Austin, S Holmes, D Keller; Kicker: M Crosby. TD League-bonus-100 yds rushing, receiving, & 300 yard passing.
Don't think you are nuts... Miles has everything stacked against him... jets D, hammy problems, and imo an over rated QB that missed almost the entire season last year due to injury. Everyone has Romo ranked were he left off but he only played 6 games last year. Too many questions in big d.
Thanks for the help with mine, and I don't think you're crazy at all. Maclin is a pretty good play against an improving but still untested Rams defense - IF he's healthy enough to play his full reps. Austin will most likely get Revis (not good for Miles), while Dez draws Cromartie (not bad for Dez), so look for Dez and Witten to get the bulk of the targets. Austin is going to have his share of big games this year, but I don't think this is going to be one of them. Play the matchup, go with Maclin. Good luck!
I get what the others are saying, and why someone would bench Austin. But personally ... unless they're out, I play my studs. Maybe if Maclin had a healthy preseason I'd sub him in.
Injured #1 WR v tough D Sick #2 WR v D that will struggle against all the offense that the Eagles have #3 WR with iffy QB v weak D
All three are pretty much equal picks when you look at it like this.
I doubt the Eagles are going to push Maclin in this game even if he is considered healthy. 60 minutes of competitive football will take its toll on Maclin and I think he will see limited play time and won't be making too many deep routes.
So between Austin and Edwards, being week 1 and no need to take any huge gambles at this stage, play your stud. Everyone expects him to perform and the Cowboys are in a real tough division this year so can't afford to take any risks themselves. They will expect Austin to perform as per a 100% healthy player should do... he is my pick.
Thanks for helping with mine.
Oh and its easy in hindsight to say, I should have made the gamble with the sleeper/rookie... for example Nelson, but pre-game you have got to play consistency over hype.

Tough choices. If Maclin sounds healthy and ready to go, I'd go with him. My only concern is that him and Vick didn't have anytime to mesh in the preseason, but they did have all last year together. If you don't feel comfortable with Maclin, start Austin with confidence. Regardless of the matchups, you have to go with your studs.
