Bess or Maclin

Postby merton3480 » Fri Sep 09, 2011 1:45 pm

I am in a 12 team, H2H league. NOT A PPR. Can't decide whether to start Bess against NEW or Maclin against STL. Bess has good numbers against the Pats secondary and Maclin hasn't played at all this pre-season. Thoughts?

I would say Maclin just because I feel like the Eagles will have the ball more. The dolphins wont be able to sustain drives against New England

How much do you trust Henne? Miami will have to throw the ball all day to keep up with Brady and co. If you think Henne will be successful in throwing, go with Bess. If you think he'll struggle, go with Maclin.

My personal opinion, I would go with Bess. NE wins with offense, not defense, so Henne/Bess will get theirs, it just may not be pretty. Henne may have 3 ints, but he'll also have 40+ attempts with 25+ completions.

I tend more toward Maclin simply because he has a pretty good chance to break at least one big one. I don't hate Bess, like him more in PPR, and I'm not sure how good NE's 2ndary is really gonna be, but Maclin is more dynamic IMO.

Good luck! ;-D I could use a thought or two...
