Matt Ryan for Hightower? Upside? Whir*

Postby havinaguinness » Fri Sep 09, 2011 6:58 pm

Hey guys, I would like hightower because he has huge upside this year, number 1 back on the redskins, fits perfect with the offense there and had a huge pre season showing

The guy who has him wants matt ryan, and then id be stuck with Orton as my QB
Is this a good trade for the potential upside in hightower? Im kinda slim at RB's right now

Also instead of hightower he also has ryan mathews and reggie bush

I think that would be an awful trade to make, I might be a little bias'd though.

Shanahan is known for switching backs at any moment, and Ryan is due for a break out season. Plus the Redskins don't have a solid QB so opposing defenses could be stacking the box a lot against them. Which would make it even tougher for Hightower.

BTW here are some point projections (non ppr) for Ryan and Hightower this season:

Matt Ryan: 259.4

Tim Hightower: 118.8

depends on your team. list your current RBs.

I think hightower has the potential to be a top-10 ffb running back. I'll be shocked if he doesn't end up top-20 at the very least.

Matt Ryan is very, very good. Orton is good, but I don't think he'll have that great of a year this year. If you do this trade, pick up a nice back up (Collins?), and play the match ups every week.

I own both Hightower and Bush and think they both have ALOT of upside, but Trading Ryan would really hurt you team. I would try sending him another offer for hightower not involving ryan. If thats not going to happen you should try to get Bush ;-D , but dont overpay Riggie Gets hurt alot.
