M. Austin or K. Britt?

Postby jmog » Sat Sep 10, 2011 8:41 am

In my league we start 3 WRs.

My top 2 are obvious this week with Mike Wallace and Larry Fitzgerald.

Normally Miles Austin would be an obvious 3rd WR, but this week he is still healing from a hammy and will be covered by D. Revis of the Jets.

Do I still go with Austin or start K. Britt against JAX?

Will help in return.

I'm facing a similar dilemma at flex with Austin v McCluster. My concern is that between Austin and Bryant, somebody is going to disappear...the question is who? In your case, I'd be hard pressed to sit Britt this week after showing obvious chemistry with Hass. Could Austin put up a huge game? Sure. But he just as easily catch 3 balls for 21 yds and no TDs. I like Austin moving forward, but this week I think I'd lean toward Britt, since there's only 2 real options there.

I like Britt, get him in your lineup while he's healthy and CJ2K is still warming up...may end up with better numbers than Wallace going against a suspect JAX Defense...

Id lean Britt here for the same reasons Ditka mentioned. Great work with your receivers though.

Thanks, I had to make a trade to get them, I had 4 really good starting RBs but can only start 2. I had J. Charles, R. Mendenhall, F. Jones, and DeA. Williams.

I traded away Mendenhall for Wallace and Lynch.

So I took a hit at RB2 and now I have to decide each week between Jones and Williams, but since we start 3 WRs and only 2 RBs I needed a good 3rd WR (my WRs were Britt and Amendola after Fitz/Austin).

Either way I had already switched Britt in over Austin for just this week but I just wanted to see if I was being retarded.

While I generally would say roll with your studs week 1 even with a bad matchup, Austin's injury makes me tilt slightly toward Britt.

Britt. Revis shuts down the best at 100%, and Austin is good, but won't be running at 100% and Revis will be all over him like white on rice.

Guess I will be the one to disagree. I am not benching a stud week 1. If he is healthy enough to start then I believe he will be expected to play at full speed. No team wants to start the season with a loss and the NFC is so tough this year that non-divisional match-ups might be the deciding factor on who get the wild card (Philly winning obviously... lol). With that said Austin will be expected to play to full capacity. I would start him. Also, the pressure is somewhat alleviated in the fact you have Wallace and Fitz also starting... so worst-case scenario: an under-performing Austin is not a loss to you here.

Please help with mine
