First Week Of Fantasy... I Got WRECKED Help If You Can...

Hey guys thanks for taking the time to read this. I got beat so terribly this week (Lowest score in my entire 12 team league) that I have to hang my head in shame at work. Oh was it brutal. Any advice on how to keep this from happening again? There's only 11 total spots on my team 7 starters, 4 bench. No flex or D/ST (that's odd right?!) Here's my list

Starters:

K Nate Kaeding
QB Matt Ryan
RB Rashard Mendenhall
RB LeSean McCoy
TE Owen Daniels
WR Dwayne Bowe
WR Mike Wallace

Bench:
QB Kevin Kolb
RB Felix Jones
RB Mike Tolbert
WR Steve Johnson

Right before this game I traded WR Kenny Britt and my kicker Billy Cundiff for Nate Kaeding. (I didn't need Britt since he had the same bye week as Bowe and I liked Johnson more as a backup.) Talk about a kick in the gut there. I figured I'd drop Nate Kaeding and pick up the Eagle's kicker Alex Henery. Besides that I don't know what to do. Matt Ryan only gave me 7 points. Mendenhall gave me 3. Bowe gave me 1. Absolutely killer. Team is not PPR. QB loses a point per sack, 2 per fumble/int. The hard part is that if I had ANY of my bench guys in in place of my starter or DIDN'T trade Billy Cundiff and had him in I would have won my match up.

I wouldn't have done the Kenny Britt trade, but even with that being already done I still think your roster is strong for a 12 team league.

There's really no reason to hang your head in shame. Its an old saying in football but it holds true for fantasy: Any Given Sunday. Things can still go wrong despite all the draft preparation in the world.

If you still feel like you have to do something, I would explore selling high on Mike Tolbert. He will continue to be a solid RZ option for the Chargers but you can't expect production like that on a week to week basis. If you package Mike Tolbert with one of your starters, you would shore up your roster nicely. I would try to improve at WR, QB, TE or RB in that order. The reason why I'm not worried about your RBs despite Mendenhall is you have a very solid 3rd back in Felix Jones.

I'll reiterate what I said earlier in this post: I would have told you that you have a strong team if you showed me this roster prior to week 1 over in the roster rating's forum. One bad week doesn't change that, don't fret. Good luck.

Well Britt was my backup kicker and he didn't mesh with Bowe's bye week. With only 4 bench spots I really wanted two back up RB's over two WR's. If I didn't trade him I was just going to drop him and I figured if I could get a "better" kicker out of the mix then why not? Needless to say my logic didn't pan out

I could probably land that trade. It's funny because the same guy I traded Britt and Cundiff to has Gates.
