With the Steven Jackson injury (SJax), I’m losing a little bit of production. Here is my roster:
QB – Ryan RB – Ray Rice RB – Sjax RB/WR – Bush WR – Reggie Wayne WR – Steve Johnson TE – Aaron Hernandez Def – Green Bay K – Kasay BENCH RB – Pierre Thomas RB – Ricky Williams WR – Santana Moss WR – Amendola WR – Mike Williams (Seattle) TE – Kendricks
My question:
Should I trade Pierre Thomas for Cadillac Williams? Caddy’s owner has strong RB, probably won’t use him and knows he’s likely only a temp fill-in for SJax. I would like this trade to fill in these next few weeks and handcuff SJax in case there is a long-term problem (with his age, mileage and history, there could be.)
Appreciate any thoughts you have! WHIR with some real thought.
QB: Philip Rivers WR: Andre Johnson WR: Miles Austin RB: Tim Hightower TE: Brandon Pettigrew WR/RB/TE: Kenny Britt K: Alex Henery DEF: Detroit Bench RB:Mark Ingram WR: Percy Harvin RB:CJ spiller QB: Chad Henne
Cadillac looked good, and the good news is Bradford is ok. He'll produce some good numbers. I just don't like the Saints trio of Ingram, Thomas, and Sproles in terms of fantasy production. Trade away!
Yeah, in your situation that's a good trade. I wouldn't normally love giving up PT for Caddy but since it's insurance for you it's very worth it. Good luck!
Do the trade this way you have the handcuff and I am not high on Thomas because of injury history and the fact that he has to contend with Ingram who seems to get most of the rushing attempts and Sporles who is catching passes out of the backfield.
Yeah, I would absolutely do this deal. Caddy looked really good, indeed, and I'd rather have SJax's handcuff and lock down the StL backfield at this point then have one of the 3-4 backfield mouths of the Saints. As long as Ingram and/or Sproles are still in the mix, PT isn't really worth much IMO, but if you have Caddy/SJax, there's a good chance you'll have a healthy starter in a pretty good offense (and since it's the NFC West, you might well have a tasty matchup, too)
