Need a counter for Hightower for Tolbert

Postby monkiesatemybaby » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:02 pm

Dude offered me Tolbert for Hightower. Not takin that straight up, but I had to stop and think that Hightower IS on a Shanahan team and Tolbert looked awful good week one...) 8-team expanded roster, standard ESPN +1PPR. Anyway, here's the teams:

ME
QB(Start 2) Kolb*, Freeman*, Orton
RB (2) Charles*, Turner*, Hightower*, Beanie*, Jacobs, PIerreT, Fred Jackson*
WR(3) AndreJ*, DeSeanJax*, StevieJ*, NMeachem, MalcomFloyd, AntonioBrown
we also start 3 flex, so all starred players currently start

HIM
QB Eli, Romo Bradford
RB AP, Forte, Lynch, Tolbert, Moreno, DanielThomas
WR Dez, CalvinJ, RoddyW, Crabtree, Jacoby, Manningham, SteveSmith(CAR)

We've each figured out that the other isn't a complete moron, he first offered me SSmith for Andre which I countered with Hightower for AP so that's out of the way. Now it's the Hightower for Tolbert thing and I think that if I counter I wanna target Romo. I'm considering maybe Kolb/Hightower for Romo/Jacoby or something along those lines. The bigger question is am I pushing the panic button on Kolb and Freeman too quickly? My starters look awful solid on paper, but for some reason Kolb and Freeman make me nervous...any ideas on a good offer? Or should I just decline and leave it for a couple more weeks? (Not that it really matters, but this team won't start scoring until week 2 so we're both 0-0) Any ideas are greatly appreciated and as always, leave a link and I'll gladly give you my opinion on yours! Thanks! ;-D

Thanks for chiming in on mine.

Do you think he'd go for Kolb/Hightower for Romo/Tolbert? I'd do that in a heartbeat!

That would be a good trade. Romo will put up good numbers, but just keep an eye on Tolbert's knee. Sounds like the sprain is nothing serious, but with his running style, it can get beat up quite a bit.

I would avoid more rbs and get a quality rb. Hightower will be a top 15 back this yr. Trade him for a top 10qb and you will b set. I would target Romo or Eli

I like the trade of Kolb/Hightower for Romo/Tolbert. This way you get a better proven QB instead of taking a risk with can Kolb produce consistently or Freeman continue to be good. The upside with Tolbert is that he is catching passes out of the backfield and still seems to be getting the goal-line carries.
