First-time poster, and in my first-ever fantasy league. A friend feels the need for help at the QB position, and I'm a bit weak at RB. Here's my starting lineup as things currently stand for this week:
--QB: Philip Rivers --RB: Adrian Peterson --RB: Ben Tate --Flex: Dez Bryant --WR: Greg Jennings --WR: Kenny Britt --TE: Jason Witten --D/ST: Ravens --K: Sebastian Janikowski
Obviously, my biggest weakness is at RB. I have Knowshon Moreno, but after his poor week 1 performance and injury concerns, I tentatively have him slated to be on my bench this week, especially since Kubiak apparently indicated today that Arian Foster might not be totally back this weekend (meaning Tate still could be a good short-term option).
My friend is loaded at RB. He has Foster (obviously not great right now), Hightower, Beanie Wells, Shonn Greene. But he's kinda weak at QB and has Schaub as his starter w/ Ryan Fitzpatrick and Cam Newton on his bench.
We've discussed a trade. He's interested in Rivers from me. I said I might trade him Rivers for Matt Schaub and Beanie Wells, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Crazy? Or smart?
Is it? The projections I've seen only had Schaub about 2 points per week or so behind Rivers. And obviously, Beanie Wells would give me some long-term stability at RB. Just curious as to what makes it crazy ... is Schaub just too inconsistent? Wells overrated? Some combination thereof?
It really isnt a bad deal. However I would try and snag HTower instead. If you can do that, take it and dont look back. Otherwise, its a solid deal for both sides.

I liked this idea ... only I went bold and made it Wells, Hightower and Schaub for Rivers and Tate. Perhaps predictably, he declined.

You think Hightower is going to be a more consistent performer than Wells? I guess simply because he's likely to get more carries as a "workhorse" back than Wells is?
