Lloyd is the safer pick as Packers D is much stronger the Arizona's D. If Lloyd does not play though Smith will be a decent option.

Thanks for your input in my thread... which is almost identical to your situation. I have Steve Smith and want to bench him for Meachem. But after thinking about it for awhile, I'm not gonna bench Smith.. and I don't think you should bench him for Lloyd either.

Yeah it's true, the Packers defense is much tougher than Arizona's.. and Newton may throw some picks and Carolina will fall behind quick... but that just means they will be forced to pass even more.... which means more targets to Smith. Woodson and Tramon Williams are good corners but no one is going stop Steve Smith from getting the ball especially when Newton looks his way so often. Lloyd is the safer pick probably, but his ceiling is nowhere as high as Steve Smith's. Even with the tough matchup, I'd start Smith.

i think lloyd is a lot better then people realize, he is much closer to the player he was last year then people realize, hes in for another good year and i roll with him this week if he plays. Like another guy said wait and observe on steve smith as more of an option for the future if he continues to play well. help on mine? viewtopic.php?t=497089

S.Smith is for real..Do you really think he lost his touch? He didn't have a good enough QB to get him the ball. I say he is a must start if you have him. GB is gonna be stomping CAR therefore CAR will be passing. I think just too many people think S.Smith is washed up...I'm not buying it and wish I would have drafted him besides wouldn't you rather have a healthy S.Smith over a groin injury to Lloyd.

id go with Llyod, just because i think GB is gonna bring the heat on Newtown, and GB's secondary is capable of containing smith.
