Drop Peyton Manning for Eli Manning?

Postby TurkeyTime » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:49 am

This question has probably been asked 1,000 times, but I need the help now. I have Kevin Kolb, but I don't think he's a solid enough option to take me to the promised land. I have no backup QB who is available to play right now. Peyton Manning has been occupying a spot on my bench since I traded for him and the Packers DST.

I would think that the Colts would need to be in contention for them to bring Manning back this year, otherwise why risk a career ending injury for a team not headed to the playoffs? IF Peyton comes back, how effective will he really be?

Should I pick up Eli Manning off of waivers and drop Peyton Manning (or who do you see I could drop in place of Peyton)? Your thoughts please

I'm an advocate of dropping Manning unless you have an IR slot. I just don't see him playing this year. Why would the Colts bring Peyton back with 4 or less games to play when his health and a high draft pick would be in jeopardy and the season will already be lost? Eli would be nice to have and you could keep Kolb to play match ups all year.
