TRADING FOR CHRIS JOHNSON

Postby Ricky P » Mon Sep 19, 2011 1:40 pm

I've got a trade agreed to in principle with some small negotiations still going on....

I'm receiving:

Plaxico Burress
Chris Johnson

for

Jeremy Maclin
Shonn Greene
Michael Bush

He now wants BenJarvus Green-Ellis instead of Shonn Greene. I'm torn on it, but watching the Patriots games Woodhead is basically splitting time evenly with The LawFirm. Shonn Greene looked good yesterday and got a lot of work. Should I give up BJGE and keep Greene?

Thanks.

Couple of things with the Jets you have involved -- Mangold (Jets Center, one of the best in the league) has a high ankle sprain. He's definitely out next week against Oakland, and that O-line is already weak enough with Hunter at RT. My point being, Greene's value is likely to dive a bit more in the coming weeks, but he's been a strong 2nd half performer the last 2 years. On the flip side, right now Sanchez seems rather locked in on the targets he's most comfortable with -- LT, Holmes, and Keller. As the season progresses, expect Plax (and even Mason, but to a much, much, much lesser degree) to get more involved in the passing game. He's not a bad investment either.

Now as for the rest of the deal, personally I'd do this with Greene of BJGE. Hard to trust any Patriot from week to week, and the Jets backs for a couple weeks here. Pull the trigger and don't look back -- CJ2K has a much more favorable stretch coming up, and if Vick misses much time Maclins value with inevitably take a hit.
