What you think about this trade?.....WHIR

Postby jonboycubs » Mon Sep 19, 2011 5:31 pm

I am in a 12 team PPR league. The guy I am thinking of proposing this too just lost Hernandez for two weeks. I have Gronkowski and this injurty is good news for my TE as he will see more passes. I do need to uprade my RB and WR, so I am thinking of trying to get him since he just lerned of the injury. I know it is only two weeks. This trade will leave me with just Pettigrew at TE, so in your opinions is it worth a shot, is it a fair offer, or do you see something differnt and should keep my hands on Gronkowski? Thanks

I GIVE : Gronkowski and J. Stewart
I GET : Fred Jackson and James Starks

I could throw in Reggie Wayne instead and try for Welker but think that would be pushing my luck.

Do it, TE is very deep this year although you will downgrade to an extent.

F. Jackson in my opinion is one of the most underrated fantasy players in the league (I have him in all three of my leagues). He's averaging over 4 yards per carry, is getting undisputed number 1 RB touches, and the kicker is BUF is emerging as a somewhat dynamic offense giving him goal line opportunities.

Starks is a nice bench piece (an upgrade from Stewart) and could have some upside / a potential flex fill-in during bye weeks.

I'd make the trade. Are there any good TE's on the waiver wire??

i agree with the consensus thus far.

jackson is by far the most valuable player in this deal.
you're giving up your backup TE (is a backup really even necessary?) and a committee guy for clear cut workhorse back and another committee guy who could actually get the full time job soon.

lil' help

There are some option on waiver for TE, to replace Pettigrew, if this trade were to go threw

You obviously do this but there is no reason for the opp to accept this.

Like someone else posted, Tight end is a position where you can always pick up a good backup from FA

Keep your eye on F. Davis if this goes through.

Yes I would do it. Fred Jackson is getting plenty of touches & is running great and that would definitely help out your RB position. And Starks will continue to see more carries as the weeks go on. I really dont see Stewart having much value unless DWilliams going down so no loss there. Like the other guy said, the TE position is pretty deep so you can find another TE on WW if you need to.

Thanks for the help on mine.

Of course I'd do this. Problem is, would the other owner? if this offer is on the table then take it, but I'd guess it's not, and I'd guess it'd get shot down. Until Carolina shows that they want to run the ball, Stewart wont hold much value. Just because he needs a TE doesnt mean he's going to get held up for it, I'm sure he's looking at the wire as well, and I'm sure theres a Dickson, Chandler, Gresham type sitting out there, and he wouldnt have to give up Starks and Jackson to get him.

Yeah im trying to get him while hes down if that makes sense, not sure he will go for it and chances are not with j stew in there. Why im thinking of dealing Pierre Thomas instead or maybe even Tate if he thinks Foster will stay out, but who knows with a hammy issue
