TRADE: Philip Rivers for Frank Gore + Schaub...WHIR

Postby geeksincleats » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:25 pm

I was offered Frank Gore & Matt Schaub for Philip Rivers in my 12 team PPR league where we start QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/FLEX

My RBs:

Ray Rice
Knowshawn Moreno
Daniel Thomas
Mark Ingram

My QBs:

Philip Rivers
Cam Newton

My WRs:

Vincent Jackson
Santana Moss
Mike Williams TB
Devery Henderson
Lance Moore

I need help at RB2 but is Frank Gore the right man?

The other owner also has:
Adrian Peterson
Peyton Hillis
Cedric Benson

I'd rather have AP or Hillis, but who can I give up to get either of them without hurting my starting roster too bad?

It's a tough question tbh.

Frank Gore is a good improvement over Moreno, Thomas & Ingram, so you will be getting some good extra points in there. About Schaub, he is good to have for sure, but he aint a Rivers. I'm not sure how much Texans throw the ball this year. When Foster is ready, they will have two very good RB's (Tate played really great in both games). My point is, I dont know if Texans focus the offence this year on throws, or they mix it more.

As you only run 1 QB, then Cam Newton will probly take the spot over Schaub in some games - Play him in week 3 atleast, Jaguars pass defence is so bad, Newton will be a beast!

All in all, if you can get AP or Hillis instead of Frank Gore, go for it BIG TIME. If not, then the trade is still alright for you as Gore will make alot more than Moreno, Thomas and Ingram. I'd say go for it.

I would counter with Hillis instead of Gore and see if he bites.
I drink because of the 1998 NFC championship game.

I'd take that trade as is. There is no way your getting Peterson and Gore himself while risky has #1 RB potential year in and out if you can afford to sit him a couple weeks b/c of injury. Schaub is a little overrated but has all the weapons in the world and quite frankly isn't but a tick below Rivers himself. I think this trade is a steal for you personally.

I can't believe the other GM proposed this deal and you are actually considering COUNTERING it? ACCEPT THAT OFFER BEFORE YOU LOSE A CHANCE TO UPGRADE. I am known for 'weighing the options' but this is one that is about as good as your going to do for a slightest of QB upgrades for the other guy.

DO IT. ;-D
