Interesting trade offer: Newton for Tate? WHIR

Team is below, and I currently have no back up QB (Dalton, Collins, Jackson, Jags QBs the only starters even available...both Eagles backups as well). Newtons a pretty solid lock going forward, don't ya think? I find it hard to believe he can produce against GB then come wayyy back down to earth (below Freeman, at least).

I'm sorry if it SEEMS like a dumb question, but fact of the matter is with S-Jax hurting (and at Baltimore this week), and Deangelo sucking...Tate would be very helpful short-term. It's still Fosters team when he gets back to 100% (which has to happen eventually, right?)

Why not just wait to accept the trade so that it doesn't have an affect on your roster till week 4?

Newton would be a great add for you, you really could use a backup as Freeman has been just ok. Tate is a solid short term option but once Foster comes back he loses some value. For you I think it is worth it to wait out this week to see if Jackson will play, if he doesn't your going to need Tate.

i like newton and fitzpatrick a lot this year.
they should be top10 QB just behind Rodger, Vick, Brady, Brees, Rivers, and on par with Romo, Ryan, Schaub and Stafford
Newton might become next michael vick if he play well on week3 against Baltimore
QB that can get you high ff points against GB and Bal is definitely a stud QB

I would be starting Newton over Freeman. That's why I say go for it. I don't think Tate's value will last but a couple weeks.

Agreed, I would do it, I think it would be an upgrade for your team and when Foster is healthy, they will share carries.

Definitely accept. I have josh freeman but I haven't been starting him in favor of Fitzpatrick. Like everyone else said, Tate is short term.
I'm loving the Cam Newton Steve Smith connection right now (have steve smith as wr in one of my leagues) and I think he's gonna be a solid no 1 qb this season.

I think even if you have to take a one-week hit at RB this is still worth it. Newton's going to net you a ton more points than Tate.

i think long term newton has more value. hes in a good offense it seems and no one can take over. tate has very high short term value but foster is having hamstring issues so who knows how long term. i think tate could play his way into the job if he has a big week but to me newton is the safer bet.

better to lose now than to lose int eh playoffs...
