I offered a trade and Im really not sure about it.... If i need to cancel this I need to do it soon as these guys are fast! haha
I Give: Nicks and Hightower I Get: G Jennings and Daniel Thomas
I Believe Shanahan plays with Hightower and Helu all year long! and Daniel just looks much better then Reggie in Miami.... That being said, I think I feel safer with Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball then Eli! He looks bad!
What do you guys think?...Keep it on the table?
Thanks and leave a link, Ill get you back!
___________________________________________ 10 Team Non Keeper - Points League Play: 1QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1WR/RB, 1K, 1Def
QB - Aaron Rodgers, Sam Bradford WR - Hakeem Nicks, Brandon Marshall, Chad Ochocino, A.J. Green RB - Maurice Jones-Drew, Ahmad Bradshaw, Tim Hightower, Dexter McCluster, Willis McGahee, Deji Karim TE - Jason Witten K - Alex Henery Def - Green Bay
Because of the Hightower/Helu situation, I like the trade slightly. I do prefer Nicks' talent over Jennings just slightly, but that team is just so decimated and as you said, Rodgers>Eli. The only thing to think about is that Nicks is really the only reliable target Eli has at this point with Manningham and everyone else hurting. Regardless, I'd go with Jennings/Thomas.
I'd definitely take Jennings/Thomas. I've liked Thomas even before the season and he looked great, plus we know Bush isn't an every down back. And you have to go with the receiver that plays with Rodgers over Manning.
I would much rather have Jennings then Nicks (Rodgers>E. Manning) I would much rather have Thomas then Hightower. Helu is a similar style back to Hightower but is faster and more dynamic. I think Hightower wont be starting there much longer. Helu looked great in the second half and seemed to be getting more from less then Hightower. Shannahan isnt exactly the most loyal guy, and isnt affraid to pull a RB if he feels someone else will do better.
That being said, I love this trade for you if it gets accepted.
I wouldn't do it; I like Nicks more than Jennings; in my opinion he's simply more talented. Eli had a horrendous night but Nicks still caught a terrible throw for a TD, and that one handed grab he was called "out" on and later they called "pass interference" was pretty clearly a catch, in review. Rodgers is much better than Matt Schaub too. Would you rather have Jennings than AJ? An extreme example but my point remains.
On the other side of the trade; I think Hightower will still outscore Thomas.
Tough man tough. I love Hakeem Nicks but Jennings is a stud himself. Your talking about the #3 and #5 overall WR probably by season's end assuming all stay healthy. Hightower is a #1 back but not a proven one and a good rook is down his neck. Thomas on the other hand is the #2 back yet the guy in front of him isn't a rusher nor can he stay healthy. Hightower of course has had his fumbling issues but so did Tiki Barber and once he learned to control that he became a #5 and legendary RB. Hightower is no Tiki though. In a redraft I'd stay put, but in a keeper I think you take the Thomas side.
You don't have any true #1 backs outside of MJD and Bradshaw and even Bradshaw splits with Jacobs so....sure you want to take on more risk with Thomas?'
Look at Miami's schedule the rest of the way: 3 9/25/11 @ CLE 1:00 pm (go either way) 4 10/2/11 @ SD 4:15 pm (somewhat ugly matchup) Bye: Week 5 6 10/17/11 @ NYJ 8:30 pm (ugly matchup) 7 10/23/11 DEN 1:00 pm (so/so-good matchup) 8 10/30/11 @ NYG 1:00 pm (good matchup) 9 11/6/11 @ KC 1:00 pm (great matchup) 10 11/13/11 WAS 1:00 pm (jury out on Washington...hard to gauge) 11 11/20/11 BUF 1:00 pm (good matchup) 12 11/24/11 @ DAL 4:15 pm (solid matchup) 13 12/4/11 OAK 1:00 pm (love this matchup) 14 12/11/11 PHI 1:00 pm (somewhat ugly matchup) 15 12/18/11 @ BUF 1:00 pm (somewhat ugly matchup, expect plenty of touches here) 16 12/24/11 @ NE 1:00 pm (ugly matchup, but will receive plenty of touches here) 17 1/1/12 NYJ (ugly matchup)
Miami's remaining schedule, especially in crunch time is in cold weather against tough defenses so yardage will be at a premium but the touches will definitely be there. Don't expect much scoring in week 15 or 16 or 17 with those new England matchups on the road or against a tough Jets matchup Championship week.
Washington's remaining schedule: 3 9/26/11 @ DAL 8:30 pm (good matchup, should be good for 18-20 touch, 95 yards, 1 TD 4 10/2/11 @ STL 1:00 pm (great matchup, should go between 115-120y, 1-2 total TD) Bye: Week 5 6 10/16/11 PHI 1:00 pm (ugly matchup, but with Vick possibly out here, looks a little better, plus at home, sneaky play here) 7 10/23/11 @ CAR 1:00 pm (great matchup should go off) 8 10/30/11 @ BUF 4:05 pm (good matchup before the weather turns cold by Erie) 9 11/6/11 SF 1:00 pm (ugly matchup) 10 11/13/11 @ MIA 1:00 pm (hmm, Miami's run d is good, tough matchup - will lean on Rex to beat them through the air, which he should be able to and I think Miami loses this game if Rex holds the TOs to a min, but see that doesn't play into Hightower's advantage!) 11 11/20/11 DAL 1:00 pm (solid matchup - good for RB-2 high end flex totals) - these are always classics and the running game will be very important, they will want to keep Rex upright against Dallas pass rush) 12 11/27/11 @ SEA 4:05 pm (good matchup but at a tough place to win, should have a solid game) 13 12/4/11 NYJ 1:00 pm (ugly matchup) 14 12/11/11 NE 1:00 pm (ugly matchup) 15 12/18/11 @ NYG 1:00 pm (good matchup) 16 12/24/11 MIN 1:00 pm (good matchup - Minny run D ain't what it once was) 17 1/1/12 @ PHI 1:00 pm (tough matchup championship week)
Overall analysis: I like Hightower's overall schedule better simply because of the championship matchups so if forced to use them week 15 and 16 I think he should be good and he has some cake matchups just before the trade deadline so maybe you can package him and flip him for an upgrade later in the season.
Since this is a redraft, I'd just hold tight and see if another better deal comes along.
