Vernon Davis or Fred Davis? I have started Vernon the first 2 weeks and he hasnt produced shit! Could be he has a crappy QB, could be that they're top WR is out so the defenses are focusing on him ... but it is what it is. I just picked up Fred Davis off the waiver wire ... he has been doing very well and looking like he might be in a break out year for him.
But what do you guys think, start Fred who has been relaible or start Vernon hoping that he is due!?!?

I would roll with the hot hand in Fred. SF's offense is just horrid right now. Until they start moving the ball I would have a hard time starting Vernon.

Vernon is still a beast. That being said, he line is pretty shaky, so he's being used to block a ton, and that is obviously not opening him up to run routes. I would go with Fred for now.

So I just read that Crabtree will be playing week 3 ... you think with him out there, the defense will let up a little on Vonte to cover him? or are they just using Vonte to help block since the 49ers offensive line sucks? They're playing the Bengals, I dont think of them as a heavy rushing team, are they?

I wouldn't get caught up in the guessing game of how they're going to use him - Fred is the hotter Davis at the moment, and you need to ride the hot hand until it cools off. Rex loves the guy, and he'll get targets. That's enough for me. Good luck!
