Could use some help - RB and WR switch (WHIR)

Postby scalqq » Wed Sep 21, 2011 9:42 am

Thinking about sending this offer... standard league rules, no PPR.

I send over: Michael Turner, VJax, Fred Davis

for...: Adrian Peterson and Hakeem Nicks

Does this seem like a fair trade? I'm trying to sell high on Turner. Seems like the other team could use Fred Davis, considering Vernon Davis has sucked big time so far.

Here are the teams, for context.

My team

QB Tom Brady
RB Michael Turner
RB Fred Jackson
WR Miles Austin
WR Vincent Jackson
TE Jimmy Graham
W/R Kenny Britt
BN Percy Harvin
BN Fred Davis
BN Willis McGahee
BN Jacoby Ford
BN Michael Bush
BN Chad Henne

Other team

QB Philip Rivers
RB Adrian Peterson
RB Beanie Wells
WR Hakeem Nicks
WR Dez Bryant
TE Vernon Davis
W/R Cedric Benson
BN Julio Jones
BN Mike Sims Walker
BN Lee Evans
BN Sam Bradford
BN Greg Olsen
BN Ronnie Brown

Hah that's the sense that I had from that trade as well.

Is there potential for a more fair trade?

So here's something... Antonio Gates is hampered by this reoccurring foot injury. If Gates continues to be limited, as logic would follow, VJax would be a monster more-so than he would be with Gates at full strength. Or does this logic not follow in the sense that defenses will cover VJax more so with Gates limited, thus decreasing VJax's production?

Basically, does the trade of Turner, VJax, and Fred Davis for Adrian Peterson and Hakeem Nicks still make sense (even though it's worth selling high on Turner)?

having Nick to VJax should be even, if we don't include their week2 performance, but simply value from their projected points for this season, Nick is better than VJax, but due to Nick's not-so-good performance and VJax's great week2, their current value is close.

so you are trying to upgrade Turner to AP by giving F.Davis, who was a waiver wire player when season started.
i highly doubt this trade will work.
but i've seem more ridiculous like Kolb for AP, so this is not that bad, it's just normal bad.

PS- your RB2 is also Fred Davis? should be a typo

those two team doesn't have good trading combination to benefit both team from the trade, therefore, one of you will suffer from the trade, and if other team's owner is any decent, he should be able to see it and avoid trading with you since it's either you taking advantage of him, or he taking advantage of you.

Fixed the typo - thanks.

My hope is that Vernon Davis continues to suck this week, and that the other owner gets overly frustrated. Plus, since Nicks is supposed to be hampered against the Eagles D, it's a perfect time to reach out for Nicks.

agree that i am not sure there is a good scenario to create a win-win

if i am AP owner and V.David failed on week3, i'll just use Greg Olsen instead, seeing Newton is a beast (so far).
your only hope is Nick keep going downhill and VJax repeat his week2 performance on week3 and Carolina got shut down. then you have better chance of pushing this trade.

AP owner also have Rivers, which made trading VJax more appealing for him
however, if it's for me, i'll reject it right away.

I dont know if i agree with Vincent gets more with Gates missing. I think a HUGE part of Jacksons great game last week was the fact that NE had to do so much to stop Gates, leaving Jackson the one to benefit. If Gates is not there that frees up likely a safety AND Linebacker to help cover Jackson. I think Vincent will do better with Gates, not without.
