Same Team WR's ??? - WHIR!!!

Postby cubanrob19 » Wed Sep 21, 2011 12:42 pm

So I already own Stevie Johnson, and David Nelson is still an available FA ... I dont have too much depth on my WR's:

Dez Bryant - Explosive but has had injury issues.
Santonio Holmes - Good potential but hasnt been explosive or utilized ... and QB hasnt been sharp.
Stevie Johnson - Doing great so far, and Fitzpatrick is on fire!
Robert Meachem - has been decent, but hasnt broken out, and is on a squad w/ alot of options.
not to mention when Colsten comes back, his potency will come down.

Nelson has been equally as good as Johnson so far, has been producing better numbers and FP's then Meachem and Holmes. So the question is, is it worth having both of these same-team WR's?

and btw ... I start 2 WR's and a WR/RB Flex option. 1/3PPR. 6pt TD's

thanks in advance ... and WHIR!!!

Hold your horses ... some people work on weekday afternoons :-b

I'd drop Meachem for Nelson. I don't worry about multiple WRs from the same team - as long as each one produces, and it doesn't cripple you for a bye week (and even this last one is workable, since I'd rather have a strong team for the other 15 weeks than overthink the one bye). I agree about Meachem - I find chasing the productive Saints' WR kind of like chasing rainbows. They look beautiful from afar, but I never seem to be able to catch up to one. He's by far your most expendable WR, and I'm seeing enough upside with Nelson to take a shot on him.

yea I hear ya, I was just trying to bump my thread up to the top of the list ... :-D

fortunately, Im really not looking to drop any of my current WR's if I did get Nelson ... I have a low end RB that isnt doing anything for me that I would drop for Nelson.
But thanks for the info and oppinion! Im really leaning on pulling the trigger on Nelson! :-L

Yea, I don't really have a strong feeling about Nelson, but I don't like Meachem at all for the reasons above. So, if you have your eye on Nelson, I wouldn't not do it just to hold onto Meachem.

Im not necessarily trying to hold on to Meachem ... Im actually gonna drop a low end RB that is useless on my roster to pick up whoever I pick up.

Hard to ignore the 30 looks Nelson got on Sunday. I would do it.
